Local Sports: Summerfield sweeps Mason; Dundee back in action
ERIE – Summerfield’s softball team rolled over Erie Mason 12-1 and 19-7 Friday.
Destanee Smith led the Summerfield offense with six hits in the two games, including a pair of triples. She scored eight times and drove in three runs.

Ava Fisher rang up five hits, drove in five runs and scored five. Faith Secor and Cameron Taylor added three hits each.
Alexa Chesney went 4-for-6 for Mason, which also got strong performances from Raelynn Lay, Abbigail England, Emily Worden, and Jayanna Willets.

Dundee back in action
DUNDEE – Dundee celebrated getting back on the field after 13 days off due to weather with a 15-0, 17-0 sweep of Hillsdale Thursday.
Kaylee Imo and Lauren Doane both threw three-inning no-hitters for the Vikings.
Lead-off hitter Kennedy Irwin went 1-for-1 with four walks, a sacrifice fly, five runs, and five stolen bases.
“Kennedy Irwin is becoming a real leader for us,” Dundee coach Mickey Moody said. “She is a really good hitter, but she has a great eye and has been walking a lot these past few games and is setting the tone for us.”
Shay VanZandt and Katie Beaufait logged three hits apiece and Natalie Rath and Kiernan Brown added two each. Brown belted a long home run for the Vikings, who are 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the Lenawee County Athletic Association.

Fell delivers winner
RIVERVIEW – Kamryn Fell delivered a two-run single in the third inning to give Mariah Stines all the support she needed in a 2-0 Milan win over Riverview Thursday.
Stines threw a two-hitter.
“Kamryn Fell had the big hit to score two runs,” Milan coach Kirk Davis said. “That's what we needed to win. Our defense held them.”
Ida, Airport split
IDA – McKenna Tarry tossed a gem and Kelsey Stein went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs as Ida nipped Airport 4-3 Thursday.
Airport dominated the second game 11-1 as RaeAnn Drummond gave up just two hits and Drummond, Olivia Tilly, and Kameryn Krzemen logged two hits each.
Krzemen and Peyton Zajac each had a pair of hits in the opener.
"We really struggled to get going, but bounced back and played really well in Game 2," Airport coach Jessica Irwin said.
Carlson nipped
TRENTON – Gibraltar Carlson dropped a 10-inning heartbreaker to Trenton 3-2 Thursday.
Kiley Lewandowski booked three hits and Addison Butt, Ava Auler, and Brooke Pawleszeski added two apiece for the Marauders.

Summerfield splits
SAND CREEK – Summerfield’s boys defeated Sand Creek 77-60 but fell to Adrian Madison 104-33 Thursday to move to 4-4.
Teddy Gault had a big day with wins in the high jump, long jump, and both hurdles. Dakota Kohn (throws) and Brandon Thompson (400, 800) were double winners. Evan Suydam (1,600), Mitchell Gomulinski (pole vault), and the 3,200 relay of Evan Suydam, Trace Secor, Thompson and Liam Shaner also won.
Summerfield’s girls lost 103-25 to Madison and 110-24 to Sand Creek.
Bethany Suydam won the long jump with a personal-best of 14-2. Other standouts were Grace Raymond, Megan Pease, Hailey Westrick, Makenna Shipe, Gabby Stout, and Abby Stevens.

Rams win shutout
FLAT ROCK − Breeya Kryk notched a goal and an assist to lead Flat Rock to a 5-0 win over Dearborn Advanced Technology Thursday.
Sophia Ellison was credited with two assists and Savannah Bodart, Bella Thomas, Anna Klein, and Eva Mouro had the other goals.

Coury leads field
PINCKNEY – Monroe’s Aiden Coury shot a round of 37 to take medalist honors as the Trojans finished in the middle Thursday, shooting 167 to top Pinckney (194) but lose to Tecumseh (161).
Monroe also got a 42 from Kyle Pafford and 44s from Lukas Johnson and Camden Schmidt.
Rams win with depth
NEW BOSTON – Milan’s Max Jenness took medalist honors with a round of 39, but depth helped Flat Rock to a 172-180 win at Willow Metropark Thursday.
Laran Rogier and Ben Scully both carded 42s for the Rams and Mitchell Smith checked in at 43.
Carlson takes fifth
TAYLOR – Gibraltar Carlson took fifth place in the Dearborn Divine Child Invitational at Lakes of Taylor Thursday with a round of 337.
Bloomfield Hills won the event with 311.
Zackary Sisk led Carlson with an 81.
VanHuysen second
ADRIAN – Summerfield’s Eli VanHuysen shot 42 for the second-best round of the day in a Tri-County Conference jamboree at Wolf Creek Thursday.
Summerfield took third as a team with 211 and Erie Mason was fifth with 220. Adrian Madison was the champion with 173.
Harrison Morlock added a 49 for Summerfield and Mia Balcerzak led Mason with 53.

Carlson sweeps match
GIBRALTAR – Gibraltar Carlson overpowered Taylor 8-0 Thursday to run its record to 5-2-2.
Marauder winners were Addyson Brake, Erin Riley, Lila Angelos, Rylie Sulewski, Brooklyn Roldan-Delaney Boller, Lia Stith-Madison Jacobs, Anna VanHolten-Brianna Helka, and Nicole Sendry-Julie Mitchell.
Doubles carry Milan
MILAN – A sweep of doubles by Jessica Lubke- Allyson Held, Ella Warren-Ally Jones, Gwen Jones-Ava Demond, and Gabby Dryden-Maya Grimley powered Milan to a 6-2 win over Onsted Thursday.
Singles triumphs came from Jules Meads and Sarah Monroe.
PREP LACROSSE
Harrington, Bird lead
Chaz Harrington scored three goals and Ian Bird found the back of the net for the first time to lead St. Mary Catholic Central to a 10-7 win over Allen Park Thursday.
Riley DeSarbo and Max Flint netted two goals each and Paul Laboe and Bradley Birkenhier rounded out the scoring.

Bedford tops Whitmer
TEMPERANCE – Brody Leonhard and Payton Sheaves recorded two hits each for Bedford in a 7-4 win over Whitmer Thursday.
