Great shot. Does anyone know of these are present in the US?
    • Therabu
@elefante there is now no excuse not to check online since Zootierliste went worldwide

The specie is rare out of its range but one institution seem to hold them in the US.

@Therabu you can just answer the question.

@Therabu Still plenty of inaccuracies on the US side of ZTL currently. Its perfectly fine for @elefante to double check on zoochat. In this case yes ZTL is correct, World Bird Sanctuary in Missouri currently has one retired male named Brahma.

      1. Not everyone on the forum is familiar with or aware of Zootierliste. It's fine to let people know it exists, just please be respectful about it.
      2. US zoos have only been open for data entry on ZTL for less than 3 months. There is still a lot of information not entered yet, so checking it isn't always going to yield a correct answer.

@Therabu answered the question. Forums are not there just to ask all random questions, you also have an obligation to do some research yourself first. If you have been on Zoochat for 14 years it is practically impossible not to have been aware Zootierliste exists. A more logical question would be: "I see zoo x is listed as having that species, is that (still) accurate?"

IMO there is a difference between a casual question every now and then, and a pattern of continually expecting other people to do your research for you. Yes some research beforehand might have answered that question, but surely it's not that big a deal sometimes to just put a question out there and see who might know/have researched it already? In any case, forums exist for discussion - and even a question that might have had a simple/easy answer can still generate discussion if people choose to engage further with it.

As for it being "practically impossible" to not know about Zootierliste after being on the forum for X number of years - frankly that comes off as very European of you :p since it only covered zoos in Europe until recently, there wasn't much reason for Americans to use it besides sheer curiosity. I've seen plenty of American posters show a lack of awareness of ZTL - some of whom have been around for a while.
