The following dodgy sellers also have amusingly dodgy addresses. Try not to laugh.
Not all batteries are made equal and as a result not all batteries weigh the same. An Eneloop battery has a very specific and consistent weight with no deviation whatsoever.
Genuine AA Eneloop PRO batteries weigh 30 grams and genuine Eneloop PRO AAA batteries weigh 12.5 grams.
Counterfeit Eneloop batteries are simply any old cheap unbranded battery under a very impressive fake vinyl sleeve and almost always the low capacity poor quality batteries that are used weigh considerably less than the genuine article. If you have a decent set of digital scales weigh them, the scales never lie!Contact eBay Customer Support
It is important that you notify eBay when a seller on the eBay platform is selling counterfeit goods. eBay has a clearly defined policy when it comes to fakes and if nobody ever takes the time to raise a case then the fakes will continue to circulate. https://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/counterfeits.htmlReport the item on eBay
If you look at the eBay listing page there is a 'Report this item' link above the eBay item number which is unique to each and every eBay listing. Take a look if you've never noticed this before.Message the eBay seller
Let the seller know that you think the batteries supplied are fake. The seller will offer you a refund (because they know that they are selling counterfeit Eneloop batteries) but DO NOT accept the refund just yet. There is a loophole in the eBay feedback system that these crooked sellers exploit where once a buyer accepts a refund YOU CANNOT then leave negative feedback for the order. The other slight complication is that eBay will not allow you to leave negative feedback until after 7 days of purchase. Hold your nerve and wait 7 days. After seven days have passed you can then leave appropriate negative feedback for the dodgy seller and still get a pre-paid return via eBay stating that the goods were not as described and you will still get a refund either way.
The reason these sellers get away with it for so long is simply that buyers roll over and accept the refund leaving other innocent buyers being unwittingly ripped off and eBay remaining oblivious to the problem
Leave Negative feedback
Always leave the eBay seller negative feedback spelling out very clearly that the batteries they sold to you on eBay are fake even if it just acts as a warning to others. Leave feedback BEFORE accepting a refund. Once you accept a refund from an eBay seller you will not be able to leave feedback and this is a loophole in the eBay system that the seller is well aware of as you have to wait seven days before leaving feedback!!! The seller will always try to offer a partial or full refund hoping that you will accept it as a genuine error and that you will go away. Don't go away, kick up a fuss. These sellers know very well that they are ripping you off and that they are selling you fakes so don't let them take you for a fool ! Look at any existing negative feedback the eBay seller may have, there really is no smoke without fire.Ask the eBay seller pre-sale questions such as :
If you have bought eneloop Pro batteries on eBay in the past and think that they might be counterfeit you can check the eBay item number in your purchase history and if it matches any of the eBay item numbers below you most certainly have been sold a fake.
