The predicted increasing international crisis for this year and our 

slogan ’Apocalypse Now’ as some negative foreshadow, seemed 

to be right even though our positive approach on the balance. I’d 

rather not start listing the factors that pulled us back from making 

8th BuSho festival happen, when we were continuously declined 

for sponsorship. Any way, it seems like our life is just like this 

’a soap comedy series’ et cetera. Despite the fact it turned out, 

what we knew from the beginning, that BuSho attracts more 

people abroad than in Hungary. If we only looking at the statistics 

the the Festival’s evolution is unbroken, it grows like crazy and in 

accordance to a 90’s band 4NonBlondes’ one and only success: 

„Bigger, Better, Faster, More” 

Beside the complete renewal of the website our goal for this year 

was to exceed the 1000 entries. The breakthrough was so good 

that we almost lost counting when received the 1844 entries 

from 80 different countries. The final line-up that will be screened 

was selected from a total of over 400 hours of short films after 

a 2 months long work, and these are only the 10% of the total, 

unfortunately we cannot hold a month long festival. If I forgot to 

mention those who claim that there is no need for a Festival like 

this in Hungary despite the positive feedbacks, then I now would 

like to ask everyone think otherwise to pay some attention to the 

highlighted sponsors of ours who stand by us in all circumstances 

and helping a lot regardless the financial difficulties. Same salute 

to the help of the wonderful BuSho staff formed over these years 

(administration, pre-jury, technicians, translating and every little 

movement that pusesh our carriage forward). These guys are 

doing their job each year voluntarily only to put these outstanding 

shorts in front of you. These short films that astonish people all 

around the world and thanks to BuSho they’re also presented in 

Hungary every year. 

The venues of BuSho are also increasing, therefore we now have 7 

cities showcasing the program, not only in Hungary but in abroad 

as well. After last year’s debut of EFA, they again let us presenting 

last year’s best European pieces of their consideration. I wish you 

to enjoy BuSho’s other brandmarks, such as concerts, exhibitions, 

workshop, co-festival presentations and nevertheless the famous 

culture disco too. Please come along for a sho®t and don’t forget 

to notify your doctor’s pharmacist!

Sziasztok BuShojárók! 

Az idei esztendőre jósolt fokozódó nemzetközi 

Krízistészta (A mi tésztánkra jó a krízis) és az Apokalipszis 

must! szlogenek, ugyan pozitív megközelítésben, mégis 

negatív előjelekként sajnos beigazolódni látszódtak, 

amikor a megújult erős források sorban visszautasították 

benyújtott anyagainkat, de inkább nem kezdem el 

felsorolni azokat a tényezőket, melyek hátráltatták 

munkánkat a 8. BuSho fesztivál létrehozásában! Nagyon 

úgy fest, hogy nekünk már „így telik el az életünk, ilyen 

ez a teleregény” éSatöbbi azaz álá! Ezzel szemben 

újra kiderült, amit már a kezdetektől tudtunk, miszerint 

külföldön sokkal nagyobb figyelem kíséri a fesztivál 

életét, mint idehaza. Ha csak a sarokszámokat nézzük a 

fejlődés töretlen, sőt pestiesen szólva hasítunk, mint a 

4nemszőke a 90-es évek elején a „bigger, better, faster, 

more” elnevezésű egyetlen kirohanásukkal. 

Az idei évre az volt a célkitűzésünk, hogy a weboldal teljes 

felújítását követően első alkalommal átlépjük a bűvös ezres 

nevezési határt, mely olyannyira jól sikerült, hogy kis híján 

elvesztünk a rövidek tengerében, amikor a határidőre érkezett 

1844 nevezés 80 országból! Több, mint 400 óra rövidfilmből közel 

két hónapos munka eredményeképpen alakult ki az a program, 

amit most a kezetekben tarthattok, mely azonban a benevezett 

alkotások csupán 10 százaléka, de sajnos nem tudunk 1 hónapos 

fesztivált rendezni! 

És ha az elején nem említettem azokat, akik szerint a szakmai 

visszajelzések ellenére nincs szükség egy ilyen fórumra 

hazánkban, akkor ezúton kérek minden érdeklődőt, hogy a fesztivál 

anyagain feltüntetett támogatókra különösen kiemelt figyelemmel 

tekintsetek, mert ők azok, akik minden nehézség ellenére 

mellettünk állnak és minden körülmények között segítenek 

bennünket! Ugyanakkor ezúton is szeretném megköszönni az évek 

alatt verbuválódott csapatnak azt a segítséget (az adminisztrációtól 

az előzsűrin és a technikusokon keresztül a fordításig, grafikáig és 

minden apró mozzanatig, mely előre lendíti a szekeret), melyet az 

összes nehézség és az egyre nagyobb feladat ellenére önkéntesen 

csináltak végig azért, hogy végül a közönség elé kerülhessen az a 

rengeteg kiváló alkotás, melyek világszerte kápráztatják el a műfaj 

szerelmeseit és a BuSho jóvoltából évről évre fővárosunkban is 

bemutatásra kerülnek! 

Egyre szaporodó vidéki és határon túli helyszíneink jóvoltából 

pedig nem csak a központi helyszínen, hanem mindösszesen 

immár 7 városban láthattok rövidfilmeket. A tavalyi debütálását 

követően az EFA újra bizalmat szavazott nekünk és bemutathatjuk 

a tavalyi év legjobbnak vélt európai alkotásait. Természetesen az 

évek alatt a fesztivál védjegyévé vált már megszokott koncertek, 

kiállítások, workshop és fesztivál bemutatók vagy épp a 

kultúrdiszkó hömpölygő folyamához pedig jó szórakozást kívánok: 

Jöjjön el egy rövidre és ne feledje el értesíteni kezelőorvosának 

gyógyszerészét!

I was born in Bratislava but since then I am living in Budapest. I graduated from esthetics and media studies. 

At the moment I am working as a free lancer video maker and documentarist. I like to hitchhike, my bike and old 

lenses. 

1985-ben születtem Pozsonyban. A Pázmány Péter katolikus Egyetemen végeztem esztétika-médiatudomány 

szakon. Jelenleg szabadúszó videósként és dokumentumfilmesként dolgozom.

LÁSZLÓ RIMÓCZI, SCREENPLAY WRITER, ARTIST(A) 

„Minden történet egy külön világ, és idén cirka 1800 darab ilyen külön világba kellett belemélyednünk (élveztünk 

minden percet és beletekerést). Mivel már elég régóta csináljuk, a vacak filmekre egyszerűen immunisak lettünk, 

így idén is csak a legcsúcsszuperebb alkotásokat engedjük a szemetek elé. Lesz idén perverz szadóbácsi, gyilkos 

banán, állatfejű ember, pasizó nagymamák, depresszív anyuka, ganxsta arcú kapucnis kisfiú, debil család, vérpatak, 

öngyilok, és hülyén tartott pisztoly. És ez még nem minden! BuSho 2012-es évjárat: Apokalipszis Must!” 

„All stories are a different world, and we had to have a look into 1800 different worlds this year (we enjoyed 

every minutes and playing-for-forward of them). As we are doing this for a long time now we became immune 

to crap shorts, so you’ll only get to see the most outstanding ones. We let you see some perverted tailor, killer 

banana, animal headed human, 8man-picking grannies, depressed mom, ganxsta-faced boy with hoodie, moronic 

family, bloodflow and stupidly held pistol. And this isn’t all! BuSho 2012: Apocalypse Now”!

ANNAIDA OROSZ, FESTIVAL CuRATOR 

My name is Anna Ida / Annaida Orosz. In 2011 I was released as a film historian and film 

theoretician from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest where I will continue my studies on the same 

field as a PhD student right after the 8th BuSho Festival. As a daily work I watch, think and write 

about and showcase animated films, which you can follow and see at Prizma Film Art Journal 

(Animatéka online column), Primanima World Festival of First Animations & International Animation 

Day, Budaörs, Hungary and Kecskemét Animation Film Festival (KAFF). I like to spend my spare time 

with gardening, my all-time favourite animal is the camel. 

Orosz Anna Ida avagy Annaida vagyok, 2011 óta az ELTE által hivatalosan szabadon bocsájtott 

filmtörténész, filmelmélész, aki a 8. BuSho után kezdődő tanévtől filmelméleti doktorkodással 

csiszolja tovább „bölcs eszét” ugyanazon intézményben. Mindennapjaimat az animációs filmek 

nézése, a róluk való elmélkedés, írás és azoknak a nyilvános plénum előtt való, szervezett formában 

történő bemutatása tölti ki. Ezen tevékenységi kör manifesztumai mindenek előtt a Prizma 

filmművészeti folyóirat online animációs rovata, az Animatéka, az októberi budaörsi Primanima 

Elsőfilmes Animációs Fesztivál & Animáció Világnapja, valamint a Kecskeméti Animációs 

Filmfesztivál. Szabadidőmben szívesen kapirgálok a kertben, kedvenc állatom a teve.

TAMÁS PATROVITS, ANIMATOR 

This is Patro. My name is Tamás Patrovits. But I’ve already been called Patrovics, Petrovics, Petrovits, 

Petrasovits, Patrovitz, Patrvits, Patrovis, Partvis (meaning ‘mop’), Patkovits and Patőfi, although none of these 

are correct, as my real name is Jevgenyij Patrov. I’m from Hungary. I work as an animation film director, 

professor at an animation school (Illyés Art Academy) in Budaörs, and the chairman of ASIFA Hungary. I like to 

cycle around in my spare time and my favourite pencil brand is the Koh-i-Noor. Greatings, folks! 

Patro vagyok. Patrovits Tamás a nevem. De voltam már Patrovics, Petrovics, Petrovits, Petrasovits, Patrovitz,

ISTVÁN MAG, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR 

He has been working in various Hungarian theatres since 1973 (at Békéscsaba, Gyula, Székesfehérvár, 

Castle Theatre) as assistant director. worked at the Hungarian Television, Duna Television, Hungarian Radio, 

Filmfactory among others with the best Hungrian directors. 

„It is pretty hard to make a good short film. But to make a long film is even harder…” 

1973 óta dolgozik az ország különböző színházaiban (Békéscsaba, Gyula, Székesfehérvár, Budapesti Várszínház) 

rendező asszisztensként, dolgozott a Magyar Televízióban, a Filmgyárban, a Duna Televízióban és a Magyar 

Rádióban a legnagyobb magyar rendezőkkel. „Nagyon nehéz jó rövidfilmet csinálni, hosszút meg még nehezebb…

NICKY GOGAN (Ireland) 

Nicky Gogan is a 1993 graduate of the National College of Art and Design Ireland and is a graduate of EAVE 

2008. In 1996 Nicky trained at Organa in New York, one of the first multimedia companies in the world. She returned 

to Ireland to become an instructor in the creative use of technology at Arthouse. She set up Sink Digital Media the 

same year and worked as a new media producer until 2003. In 2005 Nicky launched Ireland’s first digital channel 

for short films and animation, Wildlight Channel. Nicky was one of the first active advocates of digital filmmaking 

in Ireland. She set up the Darklight Film Festival in 1999, which has gone from strength to strength over the past 

13 years. She is a founding member of DATA, the Dublin Art and Technology Association, a development group to 

encourage creative dialogue between film, art, and technology. In 2006 Nicky co-founded production company Still 

Films where she works as a producer and a director.

Nicky 1996-ban a New Yorki Organa cégnél tanult, amely a világ egyik első multimédia cége. Visszatért Írországba, 

ahol az Arthouse-ban kreatív technológia-használatot oktatott. Megalapította a Sink Digital Media-t ugyanabban az 

évben és mint média producer dolgozott 2003-ig. 2005-ben elindította Írország első digitális rövidfilm és animációs 

csatornáját, a Wildlight Channel-t. Ő volt az egyike az első digitális filmkészítésért aktivistáknak Írországban. 1999-ben létrehozta a Darklight Film 

Festival-t, amely igen megerősödött az elmúlt 13 évben. A Dublin Art and Technology Association - DATA alapító tagja, amely egy fejlesztési csoport, célja 

a kreatív párbeszéd megteremtése a film, a művészet és a technológia között. 2006-ban társalapítója a Still Films produkciós vállalatnak, ahol jelenleg is 

producerként és rendezőként dolgozik. 

VEZÉR ÉVA (Hungary)

From the beginning of her carreer she has been working in different fields related to the film and television 

business, among others at the sales department of Hungarofilm, at the distribution and exhibition company Budapest 

Film. She was marketing manager of the first joint-venture film distribution company, UIP Duna Film. She worked 

at the satellite public TV channel of cultural character, Duna Television first as Head of the Program Acquisition 

Department, later on as Programming Director. She managed the first Media Desk in Hungary. Until June 2011 she 

was General Manager of former Magyar Filmunió Ltd. to promote Hungarian films, filmmakers and the industry at 

international film festivals, Hungarian filmweeks and cultural events abroad. For three years she was President of 

European Film Promotion. She is member of the European Film Academy and member of the Experts’Committee of 

Europa Cinemas. In 2011 she was member of the „Camera d’Or” jury at the Cannes Film Festival. 

Szakmai pályafutása kezdettől fogva a film és televíziós szakmához kapcsolódik. Dolgozott film értékesítőként a 

Hungarofilmben, később részt vett a Budapest Film forgalmazási ágazatának létrehozásában, marketing manager volt 

az első filmforgalmazási vegyes-vállaltnál, a UIP Duna Filmnél. Éveken át a Duna Televízió munkatársa volt, kezdetben 

a műsorbeszerzési osztályt vezette, majd programigazgatóvá nevezték ki. Létrehozta és első vezetője volt a magyarországi MEDIA Desk irodának. 2011 

júniusáig tíz éven át vezette a korábban önállóan működő Magyar Filmunió Kft.-t, amelynek feladata a magyar film, a magyar filmesek és a filmszakma 

nemzetközi képviselte volt nemzetközi filmfesztiválokon, szakmai szervezetekben, külföldi kulturális eseményeken. Három éven át a European Film 

Promotion elnöki tisztét látta el. Jelenleg is tagja az Európai Film Akadémiának valamint az Europa Cinemas szakértői bizottságának. 2011-ben tagja volt 

a Cannes-i filmfesztivál „Arany Kamera” zsűrijének. 

ZORAN ŠMID (Slovenia) 

Zoran was born in town Trbovlje, Slovenia. He began working active on the media field more than 10 years 

ago as a teacher at a primary school and later continued to work in the youth centre Trbovlje (MCT). He gained years 

of experience in educational work with young people, especially on the field of media production. Until this day he 

continues to inspire young people and monitors their work as a mentor which has in past often manifested with 

awards at festivals as well at home as around the world. Zoran Šmid is decided that he will do his thing in near and 

far future :D Don’t hate the media, become a media, he says ;) 

Zoran Szlovéniában, Trbovlje városában született. 10 éve általános iskolai tanárként kezdte aktív munkásságát a 

média területén, ezt később a Trbovljei Ifjúsági Központban (MCT) folytatta. Többéves tapasztalatot szerzett az 

ifjúsági oktatásban, főként a média produkció területén. Manapság mentorként dolgozik, továbbra is fiatalokkal, őket 

inspirálva és felügyelve számos díjat sikerült nyerniük különböző fesztiválokon úgy Szlovéniában, mint külföldön. Zoran 

nem csak a közeli, de a távoli jövőben is ezzel kíván foglalkozni, mint mondja: “Ne utáld a médiát, légy te a média!” 

WOLFGANG LEIS (hunGERy) 

The unprofessional in the jury - that’s me! I am the no clue about film, I couldn’t care less about your 

achievement list, unexperienced, subjective, reckless, ruthless critic. I know only one criteria and only two ratings: 

The first is “I” and the second are “like it” or “don’t like it”. But isn’t your audience like that? At least at my branding 

agency that is how I try to judge brands - like the average simple consumer. But I have an affection for you filmmakers: 

I love to consume short films! 

A zsűri műkedvelő amatőr tagja – ez vagyok én! Fogalmam sincs a filmekről, és sokkal kevésbé már nem is érdekelhetne 

a referencialistád, a tapasztalatlan, szubjektív, meggondolatlan, könyörtelen kritikád. Én csak egyetlen kritériumot és 

kétféle minősítést ismerek: az első „Én”, a második „kedvelem” vagy „nem kedvelem”. De hát a közönség is ilyen, nem 

igaz? Legalábbis a saját branding ügynökségemben így ítélem meg a különböző márkákat. Akár az átlagos, egyszerű 

fogyasztó. Azért egy jó hírem is van a filmkészítők számára: szeretem fogyasztani a rövidfilmeket!

This short film is a narrative music video, a symbolic interpretation of man-woman relationship condensed into a single 

set – like a Greek tragedy situated into our modern world. The scene is a busy multi-lane highway with a man and a 

woman on the opposite sides of the road. Their sole aim is to get to each other surmounting the obstacle of continuous 

and fast two-way traffic. // A rövidfilm egy narratív videóklip, egyetlen helyszínen játszódó, sűrített, szimbolikus adalék 

a férfi-nő kapcsolathoz – egyfajta görög tragédia, modern környezetbe szituálva. A helyszín egy forgalmas, több sávos

Short Matters! 

In Hungary, only BuSho festival gives you the chance to 

see last year’s nominees of the European Film Academy (EFA) for the second time this 

year. There will be no Hungarian film shown this time, but there is a great feedback 

for the last year’s jury and the festival itself: both the winner and runner up of BuSho 

2011 were selected into the presentation of the best European Films collection. 

Magyarországon kizárólag a BuSho fesztiválon, idén második alkalommal tekinthetőek meg az 

Európai Film Akadémia előző évi jelöltjei! Ezúttal magyar résztvevő nélkül, azonban a fesztivál 

és a tavalyi nemzetközi zsűri számára egy rendkívüli visszajelzéssel: a tavalyi BuSho fődíjasa és 

az ezüstérmes is helyet kapott a legjobb Európai filmeket felvonultató kollekcióban. 

European Film Academy 

Founded in 1988, the European Film Academy now unites more than 2,000 European film professionals with the common 

aim of promoting Europe’s film culture. Every year, the various activities of the European Film Academy culminate in 

the ceremony of the European Film Awards. In a total of 17 categories, among them European Film, European Director, 

European Actress and European Actor, the European Film Awards annually honour the greatest achievements in European 

cinema.The Awards Ceremony takes place in Berlin every second year. In the other years, the Awards travel: London, 

Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Warsaw, Copenhagen, the Ruhr Metropolis/Germany, and, in December 2010, in Tallinn/Estonia. 

European Short Film Award 

Ever since the European Film Academy (EFA) was founded it has been its intention not 

only to honour the outstanding achievements of established filmmakers, but also to 

support and promote talented newcomers. To draw the attention to a new generation of 

European directors means to build up the future of European cinema. This is why, in 1998, 

EFA established the presentation of the European Short Film Award as a part of the annual 

European Film Awards, in co-operation with several partner festivals across Europe. Each 

of these festivals presents a short film award which includes an automatic nomination in 

the European Film Awards’ short film category. The initiative currently includes 15 festivals.

I LUPI (The Wolves) are a group of 40- to 70-year-old thieves from the north of Italy. The only time they steal is when there’s a

HYPERCRISIS _ JOSEF DABERNIG (AuSTRIA, 17 MIN, EXPERIMENTAL) 

The former recreation home for Soviet cinematographers in the South Caucasus has been re-purposed to accommodate writers. But that 

does not seem to work very well either. At present, only Boris Martow from Moscow, a talent from the promising times of the perestroika, is on 

the guest list. Amidst the faded glory of the institution for privileged artists, the poet tries to overcome his continuing creative crisis. 

OuT (TSE) _ ROEE ROSEN (ISRAEL, 35 MIN, FICTION) 

A BDSM session turns into a political exorcism when the submissive responds to the blows by spewing out quotes of 

Israel’s minister of foreign affairs, Avigdor Lieberman. The film, concentrating on the theme of possession, is a hybrid of a 

fictional scene harking to horror movies. 

INCIDENT BY A BANK (HANDELSE VID BANK) _ RuBEN OSTLuND (SWEDEN, 12 MIN, FICTION) 

A detailed and humorous real-time account of a failed bank robbery, an observation of how people react to the unexpected. 

Shot in a single take and with over 96 people meticulously choreographed, the film recreates an actual event that took place in 

2006.

the most significant media incidents in Poland in 2010 from the point of view of the paparazzi – from the hunt for Roman Polanski to the Smoleśsk plane crash. 

However, in the foreground we see the dramatic story of a man who makes controversial choices on a daily basis, and who consequently pays a heavy 

emotional, personal and ethical price. The main protagonist appears to be as ruthless towards himself as towards the world in which he hunts.

11-year-old Jessi lives with a foster family, her mother is in prison. Her longing for identity takes her back to the village 

she grew up in. Here she discovers that her search will have to continue beyond the confines of her old life.

A crowded street in Naples city center, plenty of shops selling presepi. A wealthy American couple and Jake, their 10 year-old child, try 

to push their way through the crowd. While husband and wife argue which street to take, the boy is unwillingly separated from them and 

taken on a dreamlike journey between reality and imagination throughout the most hidden places and symbols of Naples.

WORKSHOP_2012 

The 6th GomBuSho International Multiart Workshop has ended on the 21-July 

on the southern lowland of Hungary. Previous years have proved that young 

people can and willing to work and create things together. Though this year 

we had to sponsor the event by our own due to the renewal (in other word 

falling apart) of the sponsoring system. Thus Gombolyag Fund continued it’s job started in 2007 with this year’s credos to work 

around: „Edition 2012: Apocalypse Now”, „What did you call me?” and „The meaning of happiness”. The youngest participant 

was 7 whilst the oldest was 57 both from Hungary, but there were visitors from the neighbouring countries such as Romania, 

Slovakia and Ukraine, also from Holland and a Briton who lives in Hungary. The last tuoch-ups are in progress of the creations 

and their debut will be on the 8th BuSho Festival as usual. 

Július 21-én fejeződött be a 6. GomBuSho Nemzetközi Összművészeti Alkotótábor a Dél-Alföldön, melyen az 

elmúlt esztendők bizonyították, hogy a fiatalok tudnak, sőt szeretnek közösen létrehozni alkotásokat. Ezúttal 

azonban a támogatási rendszer megújulásának azaz összeomlásának köszönhetően teljesen önerőből sikerült 

megrendezzük a workshopot! A Gombolyag Alapítvány ezáltal folytatta még 2007-ben megkezdett munkáját, 

melyen idén a „2012-es évjárat: apokalipszis must!” a „Minek neveztél?” és a „A boldogság jelentése?” 

témákban gondolkodhattak az alkotók. A legfiatalabb 7, a legidősebb 57 éves magyar résztvevők mellett idén 

is érkeztek alkotók több szomszédos országból, így Erdélyből, Szlovákiából és nagy örömünkre Kárpátaljáról 

is, de a csoportvezetők közt Hollandiában élő honfitársunk is felbukkant, sőt egy Magyarországon élő Brit 

kolléga is színesítette a mezőnyt. Most következhetnek az elkészült alkotások utómunkálatai, majd a filmek 

ősbemutatóját szokásunkhoz híven a 8. BuSho Nemzetközi Rövidfilm Fesztiválon tartjuk!

ADVERTISING LIFE 2012 / ÉLETREKLÁM 2012 

It was again a great succes to Hungarian clips on the LifeAd 2012 a one-minute clip 

competition as there were 5 Hungarian clips finishing in the top 6! The Gombolyag 

Foundation (also organizer of BuSho) hosted the Hungarian final of LifeAd that was 

announced by Slovakian AZYL festival for the 4th time. This year’s theme was „Is 

death entertaining?” clips should reflect to this motto in no longer or shorter than 

one minute. Congratulation to the award winners and finalists, all shorts can be 

seen on BuSho’s youtube channel. 

Ismét fantasztikus eredményekkel zárult a 2012-es életreklám egyperces filmverseny döntője Pozsonyban, ugyanis az első 

6 helyezett között 5 magyar alkotás végzett! A szlovák AZYL fesztivál felkérésére idén negyedik alkalommal bonyolította le a 

magyar szervezést a BuSho fesztivált is szervező Gombolyag Alapítvány. Az idei téma a „Szórakoztató a halál!?” avagy szabad 

fordításunkban a „Krízistészta” volt, melyekkel a válságra kellett reflektálni se több, se kevesebb, mint egy percben. A győztes a 

szlovák Peter Kotrha: 33 amused című alkotása lett, mely John Wayne Gacy, a „gyilkos bohóc”, amerikai sorozatgyilkos történetére 

emlékeztet, akit 33 fiú és férfi megerőszakolása és megölése miatt ítéltek el, majd végeztek ki. A dobogó második fokán Mecseki 

Csaba: Shopping című egypercese szerepel, mely egy keserédes történet a női lélek és a válság furcsa 

viszonyáról. A bronzérmet, mely a másodikhoz hasonlóan 500,- euro pénzdíjazásban részesült, Visky 

Ábel: Batman is back című filmje szerezte meg, melyben a csődbe ment szuperhős változatlanul teszi a 

dolgát. „Pontszerző” helyen végzett még a Mester Ákos – Ruck Róbert alkotópáros Crisis című filmje, 

Bekker Péter: When Crisis Hits You című trilógiájának egy darabja valamint Sólyom Áron Koppány:

Abszolút Hallás (Absolute Hearing) claim themselves to be the establisher of gastropunk style and as such being 

the only representatives in Hungary. A regional blues-rock-reggae-etno-jazzrock-tango-punk band of the Pilis 

basin. Against all odds the band contains two tenor saxofonists, the one and the other. Although there was no 

decision made which is which for 18 years since the band exists. The band made 3 CDs and the 4th is in progress. 

The members officially call each other „Barátocskáim” (something like matey). The band’s credo is: Metalpeace! 

Az Abszolút Hallás a gasztropunk stílus megalkotója és egyetlen hazai képviselője. A Pilis medence regionális blues-rockreggae-etno-jazzrock-tangó-punk 

zenekara. A szokásos felállástól eltérően 2 tenorszaxofonos van benne, az egyik szaxofonos 

meg a másik szaxofonos, de 18 év alatt még nem dőlt el, hogy melyikük melyik. A zenekarnak már három CD-je jelent meg, a 4. „Down and up again”

EXPECTATIONS (BG) modern hardcore 

The band Expectations is an exciting and emerging formation from Bulgaria. They play a raw tunes with some grim yet intensive 

singing framed with solid musical talent. 

NEW DEAD PROJECT (H) melodic hardcore-punk 

The New Dead Project is a Hungarian band formed in 2005 by ex-members of Semmi Komoly, Nesze and Hatóságilag 

Tilos. Their style in hardcore is uncleared yet, though most critics consider them as a classical hardcore-punk formation. 

EAGLEHASLANDED (RuS) neo-crust 

Young Russian formation to prove that punks also can play some metal. 

WASTED STRuGGLE (H) wasted to the core 

This Hungarian band plays some angry, hardcore music mixed with solid rocking themes. Their new EP is about to be launched, 

where they intend to show some hardcore-playing-how-to. 

08.09: EZADIVAT 

Ez a Divat is one of the most liked party favourite of Budapest. They play a quite fresh and flowing funk-popjazz 

hybrid with a unique, unmistakable sound. They have already released 3 great LPs and a remix album. The 

remixes were made by such well-known names as the british Flevans, Lack of Afro, Mr. Bird, Jon Kennedy and 

the Danish BadBoe. Even the Nr1 french trip-hop creator Kid Loco appreciated a track from their 2nd LP which had 

been released on a single – and used it in a compilation. 

Az Ez a divat, Budapest egyik nagy party kedvence. Nagyon friss hömpölygő funk-pop-jazz hibridet játszanak összetéveszthetetlen 

saját hangzással. 3 remek nagylemez és egy remix lemez tulajdonosai. Ez utóbbin már olyan nemzetközileg elismert dj-k mixeltek a srácoknak, mint a

without permanent housing. But the „country” and the „nation” founded by Széchenyi István, Wesselényi Miklós, Deák 

Ferenc and Petőfi Sándor with their own hands and with their own words needed an own home. It is situated at the riverbank 

of the Danube as the counterweight of the Royal Palace.

built in 1937. In 1979 the first Hungarian hospital ward giving 

complex spa therapy was created in the Lukács. In 1999 the 

modernisation of the open-air pools took place.

Following the previous years’ positive feedbacks, the number of BuSho venues expanded by some new towns and cities. 

So we are getting closer to our initial idea that there should be more and more venues joining to the central venue both from the 

countryside and neighbouring countries. Beside Tisza cinema of Szolnok we have a newcomer by Elit cinema of Sopron in Hungary. 

Kanjiza of Serbia and Oradea of Romania are returning, while Uzhhorod of Ukraine and Nové Zámky of Slovakia debuting. The 

screenings will be paralell to Budapest Vörösmarty cinema on these venues, and they will send us their special prize to the best 

film of their choice. 

Az elmúlt évek pozitív visszajelzései után, amikor vidéki helyszínekkel bővült a fesztivál, ezúttal újabb települések csatlakoztak hozzánk,

WOJCIECH KORKuC 

Born in 1967. Graduated from the 8Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Graphic 

Arts Workshop 1993 in Poster Design Studio by Miczyslaw Wasilewski. He designing 

posters, press illustrations, visual identity. In 1996 he organized KOREKSTUDIO. his work 

has repeatedly appeared in foreign publications. Have been frequently honored in the 

“European Design Annual” magazine “Print”, American competition “Creativity”. Winning 

entry in the contest for the best calendar “Vidical’98”. Winner of Special Prize “New 

Moment” in the contest ad “Kreatura” in 1999. He received the Special Jury Prize Taiwan 

International Poster Design Award 2006. He had several solo exhibitions 

and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

a Grafikus Művészetek Műhelyét 1993-ban, a Poster Design Stúdióban, Miczyslaw

vizuális munkákat. 1996-ban megalapította a KOREKSTÚDIÓ-t. Munkái éveken át 

feltűntek nemzetközi kiadványokban is. Több elismerést is kapott, pl.: “European Design Annual” 

magazine “Print”, American competition “Creativity”. Részt vett a „Vidical ’98” legjobb naptár 

versenyében. Egy különdíj nyertese a „New Moment” versenyben 1999-ben. A zsűri különdíjának 

nyertese a 2006-os Taivani Nemzetközi Plakát Dizájn versenyen. Számos egyéni kiállítása volt és részt 

vett csoportos kiállításokon is Lengyelországban valamint külföldön.

szeptember 15-től a balassi Intézetben (1016 budapest Somlói út 51.).

Energy saving-LED technology-Processor led-light debut 

We just 8wanted some really good lightning to our camera like 

anybody else. We didn’t find what we were looking for so we 

started to fabricate one. We thought the salt-lamp is a good start 

because it looks cool. Then we dug one out from the shed and gave 

it a recovery. We gave it a processor-led, super-parametric unit and 

so it was made. We liked it this way. We liked it so much that the 

salt lamp itself could be left out from the device. So the Pharos CCT 

and the Pharos Spectra were born. We managed to make the CCT so 

clever it produces all kind of white lights. While the Spectra turned 

out to be so grand the rainbow just eats it’s dust. 

SÓ-LÁMPA-SÓ 

Energiatakarékos lED technológiás Processzorvezérelt fényősbemutató 

SÓ, ami SÓ - mi is csak valami igazán jó fényt akartunk a kameránkhoz, mint bárki más. Olyan nem volt, amit mi kerestünk, 

hát nekiláttunk fabrikálni egyet. Gondoltuk , hogy a sólámpa megfelelő kiindulási alap, mert az olyan szép. Kotortunk hát 

egyet a sufni mélyéről és jól megszakértettük. Aztán jött némi fúrás-faragás. Kapott maga alá egy processzor vezérelt , 

szuper-parametrizált egységet és hipp-hopp kész is lett. Így már nekünk is tetszett. Annyira, hogy maga a sólámpa akár el 

is hagyható a szerkezetből... Így született a Pharos CCT és a Pharos Spectra. A 

CCT olyan okosra sikerült, hogy mindenféle fehér fényt tud. A Spectra pedig úgy 

megtáltosodott, hogy lekőrözi a szivárványt.

VARGA CSABA EMLÉKÉRE / IN MEMORIAM CSABA VARGA 

We have sadly been informed about the sudden but peaceful death of Csaba 

Varga, animator, researcher, writer on 15-June. He was the head of jury on 

our first animation workshop in 2007. An honor to the world famous Maestro 

by screening a selection of his most successful films. 

Mély fájdalommal értesültünk a hírről, miszerint 2012. június 15-én tragikus 

hirtelenséggel, de békességben eltávozott közülünk Varga Csaba, animációs rendező, ősműveltség kutató, író, aki 2007-ben az első 

animációs workshopunk zsűri elnöke volt. Legsikeresebb filmjeinek válogatásával szeretnénk tisztelegni a világhírű Mester előtt! 

VARGA CSABA (1945. mEZőCSOkONya – 2012. PIlISSZENTIVáN) 

Varga Csaba fulfiled the faculties of drawing, and of maths of the Teacher’s Training 

College at Pécs. He shot his first amateur film in 1970, established an animation 

workshop in 1972, and founded „Yxilon „ Filmstudio. His first listed film was made 

in 1977 with the title Changes-variations. He has been the President of the Minores 

Foundation for 8Animation since 1997. He deals with painting, poetry, sculpture…. 

Some of his works can be seen at the Museum of Modern Arts in New York. In his 

last years he mainly searched the language and the culture of the Stone Age 

1968-72 között elvégezte Pécsett a Tanárképző Főiskola matematika-rajz szakát. 1970-ben készítette 

el első amatőrfilmjét. 1972-ben Pécsett animációs műhelyt hozott létre, majd megalakította az 

“Yxilon” Filmstúdiót. E stúdióból 1979-ben a Pannónia Filmstúdióval közösen megszervezte a 

Pécsi műtermet, amelynek egy ideig igazgatója volt. Első, hivatalosan jegyzett filmje, a Változásokváltozatok 

1977-ben készült. 1985-ban költözött Budapestre. 1988-ig a Pannónia Filmstúdió munkatársa. 1989-ben Erkel Andrással 

megalapította a Varga Stúdiót. 1992-től számos világsikerűvé vált film producere is volt. 1997-től a Minores Animációért Alapítvány 

elnöke. 1999-ben létrehozta a Fríg Könyvkiadót. Festészettel, költészettel, szobrászattal és zeneszerzéssel is foglalkozott, valamint 

hosszabb ideig pedagógiai tevékenységet is folytatott. Rendszeresen kapott meghívást nemzetközi filmfesztiválok zsűrijébe. A New 

York-i Modern Művészetek Múzeuma több művét őrzi. Halála előtti éveiben főként a kőkor műveltségét, nyelvét, írásbeliségét kutatta.

KERRY FILM FESTIVAL 

Kerry Film Festival is a multi-location festival which 

takes place right across the rugged and beautiful South- 

West of Ireland, screening provocative and inspiring 

film in five different towns during the course of the 

festival. KFF is dedicated to championing the art of the 

short film and the core of the festival revolves around the short film competition with filmmakers 

from all over the world taking part. The 2012 edition is set to kicks off on the 9th October; this year 

KFF will launch the first ever Kerry Film Challenge, challenging short filmmakers to come and test 

their mettle by creating a short film featuring Kerry over three days during the festival. 

A Kerry Filmfesztivál egy többhelyszínes rendezvény, amely a rögös ám gyönyörű Dél-Nyugat Írország területén 

kerül megrendezésre, melynek során provokatív és inspiráló filmek kerülnek levetítésre öt különböző városban. A 

fesztivál a rövidfilmművészet mellett száll síkra, lényege a versenyprogram körül forog, melyben a világ számos 

országából érkező filmek vetélkednek. Az idén október 9-én veszi kezdetét a program, és első alkalommal lesz 

meghirdetve a KFF Challenge, aminek a keretén belül a filmkészítők rátermettsége lesz tesztelve oly módon, 

hogy Írországba utazva a fesztivál 3 napja alatt készítsenek rövidfilmet, melyben Kerry is szerepet kap.

XVI. Faludi Nemzetközi amatőrfilmszemle és Fotópályázat 2012. 

A 2011 – év témája a remény volt ennek díjazottjaiból láthatnak egy 

összeállítást. 

The Ferenc Faludi Academy holds it’s 16th International Amateur 

Film and Photo Competition. This event which is also quite popular 

on international level, announces a tematic tender each year so that 

making filmmakers’ fantasy to work a little bit. The theme for 2012 is 

loyalty, deadline for registration is 12-October-2012. It was the hope 

for 2011 and a selection of last year’s award winners will be screened. 

A Faludi Ferenc Akadémia idén 16. alkalommal rendezi meg nemzetközi amatőr filmszemle és fotópályázatát. A külföldi 

nevezők körében is nagy népszerűségnek örvendő szemlénk a magyar viszonylatban páratlan módon évről évre tematikus 

pályázatot hirdet, ezzel is megmozgatva az alkotók fantáziáját. A 2012-es év képi mustrájának témája a hűség.

Észak-Románia örökzöld erdejének mélyén egy ötemeletes lakótömb áll egymagában. Valamikor város volt itt, de amikor a 

helyi bányákat bezárták, az emberek elköltöztek, a házakat lebontották. Csak egy maradt meg benne 16 családdal. A film az ő 

mindennapjaikat mutatja be ezen az elszigetelt helyen.
