Oystercatcher African (Haematopus moquini) adult on two eggs – Cape West South Africa
Full SizeTaken on 6th January. The incubation period varies between 27 and 39 days and the young take a further 38 or so days to fledge. I have been unable get any report when the eggs were laid so if I assume it was 1st January then they could hatch between 27th Jan and and 13th Feb. 2016. I will make frequent visits to monitor this special event.
