BUCHANAN, Va. (WFXR) — It’s almost that time of the year…. get ready to celebrate the 69th annual Buchanan Community Carnival!

The carnival opens Thursday, June 29, and continues through Saturday, July 8. Attendees can eat chili burgers and enjoy amusement park rides (hopefully not in that order) from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. every day. Please note that the carnival will be closed on Sunday, July 2.

Raffles prizes will be drawn daily. Here are just a few of the prizes being offered throughout the week: four kayaking tickets, a flatscreen television, multiple $250 cash prizes, and a $2,500 grand prize closing out carnival festivities.

Antique auto owners are encouraged to show off their ride at the ‘4th of July Parade’ in town. Anyone can decorate their car, truck, or tractor to participate in the parade. Click here to register online or call 540-254-1212.

Following the parade, the town will host a special Independence Day firework show celebration.

Admission to the carnival is completely free. Attendees can purchase ride wristbands in advance by clicking here.

While the Town of Buchanan loves its four-legged residents, no pets are allowed on carnival grounds.
