The singer and her dance partner wiill be performing a snowman and Ice Queen themed festive routine on the night and speaking ahead of the show airing, Keisha revealed her thoughts on being part of the Strictly special.

She revealed: " I’ve been here before to perform with the Sugababes for the main show, but this is a very different feeling. Now I feel like I'm here as a student. It's definitely a learning experience, a very humbling experience. I'm enjoying the feeling, everyone's made it so comfortable for me. It's probably the best working environment I've ever been in."

Reflecting on why she wanted to take part, she revealed that it was her Sugababes bandmates who encouraged her to do something "outside of the group" and said: "I am kind of shy and self-conscious, and I just never thought that I would do this. But the girls gave me courage. So I just thought okay, but I knew that I was going to come in and definitely have step my game up a lot.

"A lot of people do think ‘oh, you perform to millions of people and you must be so confident’, but actually you have to gear yourself up. The Sugababes, are actually known as the girl band who didn't dance so I want people to know that, because the comments that I get on Instagram say ‘this is going on this be so easy for her’. But when we all get together and rehearse, I feel like I've struggled the most."

Her struggles, she remarked, stem from not having "much time to rehearse", making her nervous for the main show but while that may be the case, as Strictly is for many people, she added: "This is very good for the soul for me."

But who is Keisha Buchanan? Here's everything we know...

Keisha Buchanan's career

Keisha Buchanan is best known for being founding member and one third of pop band Sugababes, which was founded in 1998 when she was just 13 and included childhood best friend Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy. Keisha, alongside the other members., co-wrote the majority of the tracks for the band's album.

The band itself has seen several members pass through - Siobhan Donaghy was replaced by Heidi Range - and was rumoured to have internal feuds between band members. This is something Keisha, as reported by The Independent, claimed was instigated by record producers who encouraged the girls to "fight each other".

In 2009, after more than ten years, six number one singles (Freak like Me, Round Round, Hole in the Head, Push the Button, Walk This Way and About You Now) and several albums, it was announced that Keisha left the Sugababes group - five years after Mutya - and the 39-year-old from Westminster embarked on a solo singing career. Just three years later, the original Sugababes line up reunited under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan and have continued working together on music and performing ever since.

In 2020, the girlband member set up her own YouTube channel on which she posts videos to "inspire you all to take a leap of faith and to share my life hacks and true self".

Speaking about her 'journey' with the original Sugababes with The Sun, Keisha said: "We’ve been through the trenches. It’s been a journey that changed who I am 100%. Them watching us now is like icing on the cake."

Keisha's personal life

The songwriter and singer has kept her romantic and home life relatively private, meaning we don't know whether she has a partner or not, however, in a recently YouTube video, Keisha revealed she was living in Toronto in Canada.
