With a population of only three hundred, Filicudi is among the least touristic islands in Italy. Everything is delivered from Sicily every day, with the exception of a small store that sells fruits, cheeses and bread in the port. Thanks to its volcanic landscape and paradise-like coves, the island offers visitors an opportunity to disconnect entirely from their busy lives. At nightfall, holidaymakers retire to small local hotels or quaint sea-facing villas. A relaxed getaway, the typical agenda consists of swimming in the sea, boat trips and sunbathing on the beach. Here’s our virtual tour of the most delightful places on the resplendent Filicudi.
La Sirena Beach Club
A seaside hotel, restaurant and private beach all rolled into one, La Sirena is a must-go for any Filicudi holidaymaker. Unchanged since it opened its doors, the colorful décor remains authentic yet stylish. Simple but effective, guests can try a varied cuisine, served with Sicilian wine. Visitors can also relax on the beach or stay the night in one of their refined bedrooms with a view overlooking the bay.

La Canna
Perched on a cliff, La Canna follows the tradition of great food on the island, as well as offering a few bedrooms. The restaurant also provides visitors with a superb panoramic view of the island. On the menu, a caprese salad with peaches and mozzarella, fresh tuna and tomato pasta, grilled fish – basically everything a summer foodie dreams of!

Salina
A daytrip to the island of Salina is a vacation essential, just across from Filicudi. At less than 27 kilometers wide, the island boasts two volcanoes, the incredible Pollara cliff and magnificent beaches. Fun fact: you may recognize the island as the setting of Michael Radford’s Il Postino: The Postman.
