LEIGHTON MEESTER is considering launching her own fashion line.

"The more I think about it the more it sounds like something I would want to do," she tells us. "I don't know if it'd be any time soon but I'd really like to work on a collaboration with somebody - I always have ideas for stuff like that. The problem is I always have so much admiration for so many designers and for so many different styles, it'd difficult to hone in on just one look but why not?"

Clad from head-to-toe in British designers, Meester tells us she's quite a fan of our UK fashion talent base.

"I really like to be able to have variety and to try different things - that's the beauty of fashion," she says. "I like to be able to try a completely different style or shape that I've never tried before. Today I'm wearing Emilio de la Morena, Temperley, Erdem, Charlotte Olympia shoes. I'm a huge fan of Emilio de Morena - I met him yesterday. I had never met him before but I have been wearing his designs for years now, he was really sweet, adorable in fact."

Talking at a recent trip to London to promote her new role as the face of Herbal Essences, the actress has managed to make the most of the city's shopping delights.

"I've seen the inside of Liberty and I loved it. I got a pair of Margiela men's shoes and a pair of Prada combat boots. It's a beautiful store."

Who are her style icons?

"I really like Cate Blanchett, she's got a really interesting take on things - she's very youthful. She experiments but is very much a woman," she tells us. "I think Helen Mirren is very sexy and of course I love Audrey Hepburn. I think everything she's worn on or off screen has become iconic, whether it's her hair, make-up, tiara or dress. Even her body type became a trend."

Although Meester is best known for her television work, she has just finished filming two soon-to-be released films - Country Strong alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and The Oranges with Hugh Laurie.

"Gwyneth was incredible. We had a real All About Eve dynamic - there's nothing not to admire about her," she says. "As an actress you rise to her level and she's beautiful and very real. She doesn't seem like Gwyneth Paltrow - she seems like a friend. And as for Hugh if I could work with him all the time I would. He's so funny and he probably wouldn't want me to say this, but he's so sweet. He's very dry and witty - he made it all good, all the time."
