'CSI: NY' star A.J. Buckley pops the question

A.J. Buckley decided to make New Year's Eve truly festive — and romantic.

The CSI: NY star, who plays lab tech Adam Ross on the CBS drama, got down on one knee and proposed to oncology nurse Abby Ochse in the Turtle Bay area of Maui, his rep tells us.

Buckley, 34, proposed to his girlfriend of two years in front of his mother, Patricia Buckley; Abby's sister, Alyshia Ochse; and a group of close friends.

He popped the question under a tree near the place where they had left some of the ashes of Buckley's father last year. Joe Buckley died of pancreatic cancer in December 2011.

Sounds as if it all went off with a bang — especially since he had hidden the vintage-style ring, made by Dan Wexler in Houston, in a box of fireworks.
