Kristen Stewart looks demonic with scary red eyes on Cannes red carpet… as her latest film draws boos

The actress contrasted her devil eyes with an angelic white dress

KRISTEN Stewart was stuck between heaven and hell in Cannes last night as she arrived at her film premiere in an angelic red dress – and devilish red eyes.

The actress was attending the glitzy screening of her new movie Personal Shopper and turned heads as she made her way down the red carpet with her contrasting look.

The 26-year-old showed off dramatic red eye make-up which gave her features a demonic look and highlighted her bleached blonde short curls.

And her choice of dress was in huge contrast to her vampire-esque eyes – which looked like she was channelling her Twilight character Bella Swan – a short white mesh dress with tulle sleeves which looked almost like feathers, giving her an angelic look.

As she posed with her co-stars and crew, she showed no signs of being upset by the boos the film received the night before at the press screening, despite Kristen’s performance being highly praised.

And she didn’t seem fazed by it as she told reporters at an earlier press conference: “Everybody did not boo. Let’s be clear.”

Even director Oliver Assayas shrugged it off as he said: “'It happens to me once in a while where people just don't get the ending. For me, it's the closest I can get to a happy ending.”

Personal Shopper is a French psychological thriller and see Kristen star as Maureen, a young American woman living in Paris and working as a celebrity assistant that is searching for signs from her dead brother who recently died in the city.

Booing is actually something of a tradition at Cannes and several films over the years that have received jeers and laughter have actually gone on to do very well.

Martin Scorcese’s Taxi Driver was heavily criticised in 1976 and Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic Pulp Fiction was also booed in 1994 – and that went on to win the festival’s top prize, the Palme d’Or.

And the glamour didn’t stop with Kristen last night as elsewhere, at a screening for Spanish director Pedro Almodovar’s new film Julieta, it was all about the supermodels.

Brazilian beauty Adrian Lima sent the flashbulbs into a frenzy as she arrived for the screening in a very plunging white maxi dress.

The Victoria’s Secret model, 34, looked stunning in the monochrome ensemble that had black trim and tight high splits.

She was joined by 23-year-old Karlie Kloss who dazzled in a futuristic-style metallic gown by Louis Vuitton which also had a thigh-high split and which she accessorised with a black clutch and ribbon hairband.
