Two-tone colored foliage, upright branches, and cinnamon colored bark set this Monterey cypress apart from its relatives.

Close'Donard Gold' Monterey Cypress could be the big brother to Wilma cypresses, reaching 20 to 30 feet at maturity in an upright columnar form. This variety's two-tone foliage has a citrusy fragrance similar to the Wilma cypress, and contrasts beautifully with the cinnamon-colored bark. 'Donard Gold' grows 6 to 12 inches per year, and could grow comfortably in a large container for several years before being moved into the ground. With patience, this evergreen makes an attractive privacy screen or focal point in the garden.
