In a story with about as many twists as your average Gossip Girl episode, Chace Crawford lost his dog in Los Angeles, and one (lucky) Twitter user found and returned the pup to its rightful owner — while also getting to meet Nate Archibald in the process.

Here's how it went down: According to Refinery29, a woman named Emily Black Favreau came across the dog wandering around West Hollywood on Tuesday and took to Twitter to track down his owner.

"Found dog! He's safe and sound at our office now but found running down Santa Monica Blvd in WeHo near Hugo's." She captioned a photo of the precious pup. "He appears to be mid-bath. No collar and a little damp. Very friendly and well behaved. Taking him to @VCAPetHealth to see if he's chipped," she added in another tweet.

The story took an unexpected (and, as mentioned, totally Gossip Girl-esque) turn when it was discovered that the dog's owner was none other than ~Nate~ — ahem, we mean Chace.

"You guys! Happy ending! Shiner has been reunited with his dad, @chacecrawford! Gotta love West Hollywood," Emily wrote alongside a photo of herself and the reunited father-and-pup. She then followed up by saying what everyone else is probably thinking: "I didn't foresee this ending."

Because this is the stuff of Internet dreams (cute actor + cute puppy = inevitable Twitter sensation), it didn't take long for the story to go viral. Emily's tweet has been liked over 2,000 times and was featured as one of Wednesday's Twitter Moments."Who just finds Chance Crawford's dog. That's amazing," wrote one user. "Omg what a small world...whats next? you find tswifts cat in the parking lot?" asked another.

Though it's still not totally clear how Shiner wound up wandering the streets of West Hollywood, another Twitter user defended his Houdini-inspired act, tweet-shouting, "THAT PUP WAS JUST TRYIN TO ESCAPE A BATH EMILY TOTALLY NORMAL PUP BEHAVIOR TBH," to which Emily hilariously responded, "It's not normal behavior to escape a bath with Chace Crawford tho... amirite."

Talk about a story with a happy ending for everyone involved.
