Thermalright Rolls Out HR-10 2280, an M.2 SSD Heatsink

Thermalright today rolled out the HR-10 2280, a step up from the company's HR-09 2280 M.2 SSD heatsink from 2022. Like its predecessor, the HR-10 uses two 5 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heatpipes that make contact with an M.2-2280 SSD over a mirror-finish nickel-plated copper base-plate, but the heatpipes loop through a denser aluminium fin-stack with slats that maximize surface area for heat dissipation. There's also a die-cast metal top-plate. The HR-10 is a tiny bit heavier than the HR-09, weighing in at 85 g (versus 80 g, but with a more optimized design). The heatsink measures 23.7 mm x 90.3 mm x 43.8 mm (WxDxH). The company didn't reveal pricing.

ScrizzI wonder if they'll come out with an HR-10 Pro.
Wont be surprised HR-10 Pro being announced few months down the line(when PCI-e 5 SSDs start hitting market).

Thermalright has been doing this sort of crazy things for over a decade, I remember buying (and end up never using) some south bridge heatsink that was just as large as these.

I have the standard HR-09, which is smaller and only has one heatpipe, but it made my PCIe 4.0 SSD stop throttling, so well worth the money.
Hopefully they've improved the mounting tough, as it was a pain to fit.

Hi,
I'd just opt for one of many heatsinks with pwm fans these bulky things are just really funny items "guess okey for a steampunk look" and being so close to a gpu a very weird item to buy.
If worried the fan may die just get the warranty offered for a few bucks.

Does nickle plating the copper heat pipes reduce the ability of the copper to shed or absorb heat?

conductivity is about 1/4 compared to copper, but again the layer is so thin, there's nothing to worry about.


I though the NAND doesn't need cooling, only controller. AFAIK these NANDs should work better without cooling?
