Starlight Ambassador since 2013

Starlight is a cause close to Delta's heart. Having faced her own fight against cancer as a teenager, Delta understands first-hand how important it is for sick kids to have something positive to look forward to.

"My goal as a survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma is to give sick kids and teens hope. I can empathise with how they feel and would love for them to know they're not alone and they too can get through the toughest times".

Delta enjoys visiting the Starlight Express Room and chatting with kids and teens in hospital, many of whom share similar experiences to her own.

Knowing first-hand how isolating hospital can be for a young person, she goes the extra mile whenever she visits the Starlight Express Room or accompanies Captain Starlight on the wards to bring smiles and laughter to kids and their families.

She's even made several surprise visits to hospitals in Sydney and Melbourne, where she sang carols and handed out Santa sacks with Captain Starlight!

Delta says whenever she sees Captain Starlight in action, she is inspired by their ability to keep "that wondrous light" shining brightly for sick kids.

Delta has also helped grant incredible Starlight Wishes to kids whose dream has been to meet the pop princess. She has helped kids attend concerts and performances and receive the full VIP treatment on the set of on The Voice.

"Having my own experience going through a serious illness, my job now is to help bring light and joy to sick kids - to give them a bit of escapism from the day to day reality they face." - Delta Goodrem

Our warmest thanks to Delta as one of our longest-standing Starlight Ambassadors helping bring light to sick kids during their darkest times.
