From 1955 to 1975, the Bateau Phare was used to facilitate navigation by indicating danger when approaching the coast. To enhance Parisian nights, the venue was transformed in 1999 into a performance venue on the water, with the birth of the Batofar.
In the space of almost 20 years, the Batofar has thrilled many a night owl with its program of contemporary, electronic and rock music... Offering concerts and clubbing, as well as a bar where Parisians could enjoy a breathtaking view of the Seine and a restaurant, the Batofar has undeniably left its mark on the minds of many Parisians since 1999. Sold in 2018, the boat left the quay to undergo a major restoration.
This weekend sees the rebirth of an emblematic Parisian night spot. After a six-year period of inactivity, the Quai de la Gare in Paris is about to welcome back one of its cultural gems. Now named Bateau Phare, this venue promises to once again become a must for lovers of live entertainment, concerts and clubbing, as well as gourmets.
The Bateau Phare has undergone major renovations, with redone intermediate decks, new decor and a redesigned layout. The managers have also invested in state-of-the-art sound systems and complete soundproofing, promising a unique immersive experience.
Under the artistic direction of Lou Liétard, former director of La Java, the Bateau Phareoffers a varied program. From Thursday to Sunday, you'll be able to enjoy themed evenings featuring local artists and musical styles ranging from rock and cabaret to electro and rap. Events such as blind tests and artistic leisure workshops will also enrich the venue's cultural offering.
The Bateau Phare aims to be an inclusive, safe space where the discovery of local artists and the diversity of musical styles are given pride of place. The new team intends to continue the tradition of the venue by inviting collectives that have marked its history, while introducing new talents.
The Bateau Phare restaurant, with its three distinct worlds, offers a varied and original culinary experience from Wednesday to Sunday. The menu includes organic and locavore tapas, a surprise brunch on Sundays, and plenty of time to relax on the Terrasse à Quai with its trendy gastronomic offerings and revisited cocktails.
