Bronzed Drongo - Animal India, Tehatta - 24 Apr 2024

The Bronzed Drongo (Dicrurus Aeneus) Is A Small Indomalayan Bird With Glossy Black Overall Belonging To The Drongo Group. They Are Resident In The Forests And Well-wooded Gardens Of The Indian Subcontinent And Southeast Asia. The Bronzed Drongo Has Iridescent Colors On Its Back, Chest, And Head, Including Metallic Blue-green Or Purple On Its Crown, Nape, Mantle, And Breast. They Capture Insects Flying In The Shade Of The Forest Canopy By Making Aerial Sallies From Their Perches. They Are Very Similar To The Other Drongos Of The Region But Are Somewhat Smaller And Compact With Differences In The Fork Depth And The Patterns Of Gloss On Their Feathers. They Are Very Good At Mimicking The Calls Of Many Other Bird Species Which Is A Trait Shared With Many Drongo Species. The Calls Are Usually A Pleasant Jumble Of Shrill Sounds, Whistles, Buzzes, And Metallic Notes. A Bronzed Drongo Is Looking With A Wink In Curiosity And Sometimes The Bird Is Itching And Shaking Itself, From A Tree In A Forest In Tehatta, West Bengal, India On 24/04/2024.
