      Critics Consensus

Keanu's absurd premise and compulsively watchable starring duo add up to an agreeably fast-paced comedy that hits more than enough targets to make up for the misses.

Fernando P Key and Peele deliver a fun to watch movie, it is a comedy where they accomplish on make you laugh. It loses opportunity in some parts that could have more development between the characters and for the story that the script sets but quickly changes and focus again in the objective to get Keanu back mixed with comedy and action. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/13/24 Full Review Zyleth B two comedians adopt a cat but fights for life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/04/24 Full Review Alec B Look, there is a lot of stuff I liked here (The very deliberate way toughness is exposed as a kind of performance, the unflinching violence and dark humor) but the movie never finds a way to connect these good individual elements into a consistent final product. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/14/23 Full Review UnleashedTraining101 I can see why this film is not for everyone. But I personally thoroughly enjoyed it. The comedy hit the right way about 50% of the time. It was endearing how much they all loved that cat. Great movie for me, but not everyone's cup of tea. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/16/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 40 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/11/23 Full Review Gareth v A bit of a nothing comedy. Some funny moments, but what saves this movie from being a complete disaster is the chemistry between Peele & Key. Sep 29, 2021 Full Review Dwight Brown National Newspaper Publishers Association Walk in the theater not expecting much. Walk out charmed and happy. Key & Peele will have that kind of affect on you. Nov 8, 2016 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Keanu is funny, oftentimes achingly so, watching Key transform himself from George Michael-loving suburbanite into a tough-talking thug a royal hoot that gets more and more hysterical as things move along. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 11, 2016 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Amid plenty of funny moments where our heroes are confronted with tense, life-threatening situations, Key and Peele always find humorous ways of defusing the tension. Rated: 3/4 Apr 15, 2022 Full Review Nikki Baughan AWFJ.org A mix of slapstick and more restrained humour, Keanu is an easy, breezy start to this summer's viewing schedule.
