Is Trackmania Nations coming to PS4? A full remake of the 2006 title was recently announced for the PC by Ubisoft for a May 5 launch, and folk are already curious about a possible Trackmania Nations PS4 release.

Ubisoft has yet to announce a Trackmania Nations PS4 release, but going by past title, it’s unlikely the game will make the jump to any other format. The series has traditionally been a PC venture, and the original 2006 Trackmania Nations was PC-only.

What Is Trackmania Nations?

Here’s what Ubisoft’s Florent Castelnerac had to say following the game’s announcement:

Trackmania is based on three pillars: First, racing is universal, and progression is fun. Trackmania gameplay should always be intuitive, four arrows only, and allow easy respawn and improvement. In the upcoming game, we added subtle, but deep, gameplay enhancements to help players improve. For example, the ghosts at checkpoints (at every respawn, the players race their best ghost), or that players maintain their velocity when respawning at checkpoints.
Second, it’s a racing game with a track creator, meaning there is a near-endless supply of new tracks. In the upcoming game, we increase the amount of possibilities for creation. New physical surfaces and new “special blocs” can modify the car behavior. For creators who like to share and stream their creations, special effects will also be available. For example, a “slow motion” block placed just before a finish can spice up a show.
Thirdly, the game also offers competitions, from daily and casual ones to international pro-level leagues.
