Totara is a great native, evergreen hedging option as they are fast growing and have beautiful gold or blue colour leave depending on species chosen. 

Hedge from tight and dense and the prickly leaves help as a deterrent to unwanted visitors to your property. This species is frost and wind tolerant. These plants prefer full/partial sun and free draining soil. 

It is recommended spacing these plants 500mm – 750mm apart to from a nice, dense hedge. We recommend you pay to have Gypsum Dust (for clay heavy/dense soils), premium soil, compost, mulch, and irrigation installed to support the successful growth of these plants.
