Cacatua pastinator - Western Corella

These birds appear in flocks of hundreds or more; I read on a bird page that there are only two populations. I am not surprised. I see them occasionally in the Frankland area, usually in the late afternoon, and only within a radius of 20-30 km. They are in and around Perth, too. This is the first time I have been close enough to a pair in the countryside to make a decent photo of them. They were highly communicative, with each other as well as with me - truly captivating and charming…
