If you have been watching the Paramount Network smash hit “Yellowstone” on CBS since mid-September, you will have to wait until next year for more episodes.
“Yellowstone” debuted in 2018. CBS has been showing the drama starting with seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 will not start until Jan. 14, 2024.
In the interim, CBS is airing several specials on Sunday nights including “A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop” and “Willie Nelson’s 90th Birthday Celebration” on Dec. 17.

But, CBS will launch season 3 with three episodes on Jan. 14 and Jan. 21 and episodes on a Monday on Jan. 29.

“Yellowstone,” starring Kevin Costner as John Dutton, ran for four and a half seasons on Paramount Network. The second half of season 5 will not air until November 2024.
The first half of season five aired in the fall of 2022 with the midseason finale landing on Jan. 1, 2023. In May of this year, Paramount had announced season five would be the last.
The network also announced two spinoffs, a prequel tentatively called, “1944″ and a sequel called “2024.” No casting was announced. It has been reported that actor Matthew McConaughey will be cast in a spinoff.
“‘Yellowstone’ chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.”
The drama also stars Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, Dave Annable as Lee Dutton, Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, Danny Huston as Dan Jenkins, Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater and Kelsey Asbille as Monica.
Paramount continued the success of “Yellowstone” with two prequels, “1883″ and “1923.″ The first, “1883,” starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton, debuted in December of 2021, while “1923,” starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, followed in December 2022.
In October, Warner Bros. Pictures, said Costner’s epic two-part Western film will debut on two dates in the summer of 2024.
The first part of “Horizon: An American Saga” from Warner Bros. Pictures will land in theaters nationwide on June 28, 2024, followed the second part on Aug. 16, 2024.
Costner stars in and directs the films that are a “multi-faceted chronicle covering the Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West.”
