As previously reported, NCIS: Los Angeles alum Daniela Ruah, who played Kensi Blye, is set to direct two episodes of the franchise: one for NCIS, which will air in March, and one for NCIS: Hawai'i, which will air a month later in April.

Today, she posted on Instagram an image of herself in a directing chair for NCIS, writing: “Back in the @ncisverse learning, creating and feeling blissful…”

One fan responded: “You and LL Cool J are the only reason I will be watching. CBS shouldn’t have cancelled L.A. Someone suggested Deeks and Kensi going on a baby moon to Hawaii and getting pulled into a case. Someone needs to write that!”

LL Cool J, of course, joined the cast of NCIS: Hawai'i in its upcoming fourth season, recurring in his role as Sam Hanna.

Another fan wrote: “Happy for you but you need to be in front of the camera as well.”

And that comment was widely held by those who would like to see Daniela guest star on Hawai’i as well as direct it.

Daniela made her directorial debut on NCIS: LA in season 12 and went on to direct six episodes before the series was canceled at the end of its 14th season.

“Kensi was born as a character on NCIS, 15 years ago, so now to be able to step onto that set again, as a director, with that incredible cast and crew, is an absolute honor,” Ruah told Deadline. “So many familiar faces and people I love, and they’ve welcomed me with open arms. It’s like coming home.”

Both NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i will return to CBS with new episodes on Feb. 12. NCIS will be marking its 21st season; Hawai’i its third.
