Miley Cyrus may have announced she can’t wait to ditch “Hannah Montana,” but it’s only to focus on her big screen career.

On “The View” Monday morning the teen pop star revealed that her new record will be “the last thing I do in music for a while.”

Cyrus took a seat between Barbara Walters and Joy Behar to discuss her new big screen drama, “The Last Song.”

“I just want to do films ’cause I like being someone else,” she told the show’s hosts.

But the 17-year-old singer also noted that she wasn’t entirely happy in her music career.

“I just feel like the music industry isn’t as positive as I’d like it to be,” Cyrus said.

The “Party in the U.S.A.” singer came under fire recently for a rock-country ballad she recorded with Poison frontman Bret Michaels.

On “Nothing to Lose,” the 44-year-old Michaels sings about getting undressed with the teen star. Michaels later claimed that the duo were not singing about themselves, but simply telling a story.

Cyrus’ film CV has recently become stacked, with roles in “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” “Bolt” and the upcoming “Sex and the City 2” (as herself).

She will also be taking the lead in “Wings,” a film adaptation of Aprilynne Pike about a teen faerie sent to among humans, due out in 2011.

Hollywood has bolstered Cyrus’ personal life as well as her career.

The singer met her current boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, on the set of “Last Song.”

Cyrus waxed lyrical about her beau on “The View,” but to keep gossip mongers at bay, she added, “I’m not getting married, let’s not get crazy.”

The singer made her name on Disney‘s “Hannah Montana,” which premiered in 2006.
