Ginkgo biloba ‘Dila’ - This cultivar was an accidental seedling which was found on the Lappen Nurseries at 41334 Nettetal, Kaldenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany in1975. The name ‘Dila’ is derived from the name Dietmar Lappen.

 

Description - Ginkgo biloba ‘Dila’ is a male, only flowering in 2017 for the first time. The leaves are 5m - 6cm, significantly smaller than those of the typical species. They are irregularly undulate or multi-lobed along the margin, and have a thin petiole, which makes them elegant. The annual growth rate is approximately 20cm. Horizontally growing branches are typical. Its habit is shrub like, and it  grows to a height of 5m -7m with a spread of 1.5 m.
