Kelly Brook has revealed that she won't be pursuing acting roles moving forward, with her having described the job as "exhausting" and sharing why it was a "terrible" at times.

The radio host, 44, has appeared in various projects since having launched her acting career more than two decades ago with the film Sorted (2000). She went on to have roles in films including the Italian Job (2003), as well as on various TV shows such as Smallville, Hotel Babylon and Skins.

She has however now revealed that she plans to "leave" acting and focus on other opportunities. It's understood to include focusing on her radio career, with Kelly having co-hosted Heart London's drivetime radio show since 2019.

The former model told the Daily Star: "I'm going to leave the acting thing. I don't like being away from home for too long. I like sleeping in my own bed and I've got my dog to look after. I was a terrible actress. I find itquite exhausting."

She continued: "I'm such a big personality so I always find it quite a struggle to be somebody else. They'd tell me I was married to someone and after two weeks in my mind I believed I was married to them. It was a terrible situation."

Kelly suggested that her husband Jeremy Parisi - whom she married in 2022 - would be content with her decision. She said: "I can't imagine turning around to Jeremy and saying, 'I'm off for six weeks and I'm going to pretend to be the lover of Ryan Reynolds, is that OK?' I don't think that would bode well. I don't think my husband would be down with that."

And reflecting on her previous roles, she told the outlet: "It was definitely a good time of my life. But you have to give up a lot of your life. I can't just run off and be an actress any more." It reports that she wants to focus on radio.

Kelly's most recent acting credits including a role in an episode of Midsomer Murders, which is understood to have been broadcast on ITV in 2020. She played the character Laurel Newman, who was murdered on her wedding day.

Speaking about it, she told the Express last year: "It was a fun little cameo episode and yeah, someone had to die and it was me. It's fine." She made a comparison to her brief role on Agatha Christie's Marple, saying she "really enjoyed that".

And discussing her decision to pursue opportunities away from acting, she said: "I do enjoy TV shows but at the moment I'm enjoying working on the radio. I just love being at home and with acting, you're kind of on the road."
