Celebrate New Zealand’s rarest kiwi with this 1oz silver black nickel specimen coin
This stunning coin is finished with black nickel plating that sets it apart from the two proof coins in this issue. Minted from 0.999 silver, it comes packaged in a collectable display card which gives further detail on the rowi. Before human settlement of New Zealand, rowi were widespread throughout the northern South Island and into the southern North Island, as far north as Hawkes Bay. There is now only one natural population of about 600 rowi, which resides in Ōkārito forest and surrounds in the South Island.
