A critically endangered, male Javan bleeding toad (Leptophryne cruentata) at Taman Safari Bogor in Java, Indonesia.

Biologists thought this species was extinct for many years, but it was rediscovered in the Bogor area in 2022. They found seven, and now have them in a breeding tank at Taman Safari Bogor. They don’t know if the species still persists in the wild, and if so, in what numbers.
