Why Beyhadh's Maya is one of the most well-written characters of Indian TV
Actress Jennifer Winget plays the role of an obsessive lover in Beyhadh.
You can love her, you can hate her, but you definitely can't ignore her. That's Beyhadh's Maya for you. Her love, hatred and possessiveness has no limits. Everything related to her is Beyhadh.
Since the show has launched, Jennifer Winget has received a lot of appreciation for her portrayal of Maya. The actress is doing a fantastic job as Maya and completely justifies her role. There is no one else you can picturise as Maya other than Jennifer.
But we can't give all the credit to Jennifer as the writers have really worked hard on her character to make it one of the most hated characters on Indian TV.
THE BEGINNING
Since the beginning of the show, it has always been about Maya. Both her love and hatred knows no bound. Be it her hatred for her father Ashwin then or her love for her husband Arjun now.
Maya's character has undergone various changes since the first episode of Beyhadh. Earlier Maya was shown as the daughter who took care of her mother, but later we got to know that not once but she tried to kill her mother twice. So that she gets Arjun's attention.
DECODING MAYA
Maya taught an important lesson to her mother in the first episode. She told her, "Pyaar usi se karo jise aap control kar sako, jab pyaar aapko control karne lage toh use barbad kar do." (Love the person, who you can control. When love starts controlling you, then destroy it.) And Maya has been following this rule till date. She has not just destroyed Arjun, but also his family and her friend Saanjh. All her care, concern and love is for just one person and that is Arjun.
Beyhadh has always been about Maya and there can be no Beyhadh without Maya.
