'I don't look too bad for a girl who's nearly 40' - Kelly Brook is embracing ageing
Kelly Brook is looking at life with fresh perspective as she approaches her 40th birthday/
The model and actress (38) wants to embrace the ageing process and keep things as natural as possible, avoiding going down the route of excessive cosmetic surgery. In an industry that bases people's talent nearly exclusively on their appearance, Brook is taking back control and ignoring the naysayers about her physique.
"I think I'm embracing getting older and not looking fabulous all of the time. The work I do has changed - I'm doing a lot more daytime TV and fewer lingerie and swimwear shoots," she told Now magazine.
"I'm just ageing and changing, and while I try to look my best, I don't put pressure on myself."
Brook has always been vocal about her dislike for exercise, relying no healthy eating having kept her in tip top shape throughout her career, but she has developed a newfound penchant for running to stay in shape, crediting her long-term boyfriend Jeremy Parisi for helping her get in shape.
"He drags me out all the time to go running, and he's really good at motivating me. But in some nice afternoon light, standing on a beach in a bikini, I don't think I look too bad for a girl who's nearly 40," she said.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, she revealed that she has no plans for children, describing her miscarriage in 2011, on Loose Women.
"I just thought when I got pregnant, I’d have a really easy pregnancy and have a baby and everything would be great, and that didn’t work out for me, so you just have to bear in mind that it’s not always going to be as straightforward as you think," she explained.
"If I’d known that in my twenties, I may have taken it more seriously and slowed down a bit.
"To be honest, I can’t see my life slowing down any time soon so if I don’t have children it won’t be the end of the world because I love my life and I’d be giving up a lot to have children, so it’s not top of my list."
