Description

In Hungary Hortobágy is a traditional staging ground of the species, and individuals pass through annually predominantly in autumn, but also in the spring. Individuals or small flocks show up occasionally at Biharugra, Kardoskút, Lake Fehér at Szeged and on the alkali lakes of the Kiskunság. A scarce vagrant in Transdanubia. In Hortobágy the Lesser White-fronted Geese arrive in mid September and leave by late October. In spring migration they reappear in mid March and leave in the second half of April.
