Picea abies 'Gamshutte' looks very nice - almost like picea pungens (or even picea omorika) in that picture.

I am growing Picea abies 'St. James'.

Yours is called Picea abies 'St. James Broom'. I assume 'St. James' is the parent plant.

Quite a contrast between the two.

Dave, I'm not too sure of the parentage for 'St. James Broom' plant came from Haddow, Kenwith Nurseries,some time ago. He originally had it listed as Picea abies 'St Mary's Broom' back in 88, but I believe he changed the name to 'St.James Broom' because the Americans took exception because of the possible confusion with Picea pungens 'St. Mary's Broom', so it's not necessarily anything to do with being a witches' broom from 'St. James'

Stephen, the 'Slon W.B.' was found by our friend Balatka.
3 years ago, after our visit, I also received some scionswood from the original broom and some were successfull propagated.

Clément, can you give us some background info about the 'Boeger's Saule', I never came across this one.

The 'Zwergnase' is a witches'broom of the Picea abies 'Parsonsii' not 'Parsonii'.
I think you received this one from Jörg Kohout who also spelled this name in the wrong way...
