The 'Summer Chocolate' is striking!

I agree. It's so complimentary to the yellow conifers. Does Summer Chocolate flower like regular Mimosas? If yours has, do you have problems with seedlings popping up all over the place?

That's quite a collection you got going! The Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum' really lights up the woods.

The 'Chocolate Mimosa' as it's commonly refered to is something I really wanted. Eventually, probably at least 3-5 years from now, it will flower regularly in Spring/Early Summer and then have seed pods for winter. I don't know if it will self-propogate, but I do know that if it does and they are true to form(the purple/black foliage), I won't mind - they sell quite well and are still considered pretty rare.
