    Hi Euan, that's the true old 'Pendula' indeed.
    The 'Intertexta' does have a much more coarse texture.
    Another big difference between them is that the 'Pendula' always must bin staked and that the 'Intertexta' have to be staked for a while untill the leader is strong enough to grow upwards by itselve...

    These are the one's in my Pinetum:
    'Pendula'

    'Intertexta'

    I hope I helped you with this info...

    Thanks Edwin yes both are nice forms problem is
    they are rare in the trade.However I also have
    Intertexa is this a sport of Pendula?

    Yep, both are very rare in the trade, but that counts for a lot of conifers and this will get worse by the day...
    No, the 'Intertexta' has nothing to do with the 'Pendula'...the only thing is that they're a member of the same family :0)

    Another great beauty of this weeping clan is the 'Filip's Golden Tears'
    {{gwi:666005}}
    Is it availlable in the U.K. yet?

    Hello Edwin,

    When will the Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Filip's Golden Tears' be available in the U.S.? Which grower/nursery will introduce or supply it?

    I recently seen a small Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Filip's Tearfull' in the U.S. It was in a verbal auction to raise money at the American Conifer Society National Meeting in Oregon. I wish I could have purchased it!

    I saw a 'Filip's Golden Tears' offered by a French nursery at Courson (Paris plant show), but it got snatched up by someone before the end of the first day. They also had a C. nootkatensis 'Aurea', (or was it 'Aurea Pendula' ?),but I thought this might become a large tree in time. Any info on that one by any chance? T.

    Patrick, the Buchholz Nursery is the only U.S. nursery I know of that they have the 'Filip's Golden Tears' availlable.

    The 'Filip's Tearfull' is a sister plant of the 'Filip's Golden Tears'.

    Tunilla, for you it shouldn't be a problem to become a 'Filip's Golden Tears'.
    I can send you a small one by post.

    Xanthocyparis (Cupressus) nootkatensis 'Aurea Pendula' doesn't exist.
    There are 2 simular golden weeping forms of this species from Sweden which both are a cross between Xanthocyparis n. 'Aurea' and Xhantocyparis n. 'Pendula'.
    One is named 'Nordkroken' and the other 'Golden Waterfall'
    They need a lot of space because at a later age the diametre of both is about 4 metres, while my 'Filip's Golden Tears' will be about 80 cm. width...

    Nate, they put some nice growth on indeed, they doubled their size!
    It looks if you started your own nursery which is always fun to do and for sure you can spend all your free time on it ;0)

    Thanks for the offer, Edwin, but not until late september when the weather will hopefully be a bit cooler. We're having a serious heatwave at the moment(38ðC / 100ð F),and I'm keeping an eye on the few Lawson cv's that I have to make sure they get a drink in time! Also,how about wind resistance for 'Filip's Golden Tears'?
    It may have been 'Golden Waterfall' that I saw in Paris. Looks nice,but probably too large for me!
    Thanks for the info and the pictures! T.

    PS Will be in touch for adress etc.

    @tunilla

    I agree with Edwin. Some years ago I planted both " Tears" in the North of Germany on the border to Denmark. There is much wind the whole year, in winter very much cold East wind.
    Both never problems with any wind.

    Nice plants. When they have established quick grower.
