    RM 258 I like.

Four Gallery's outta give us plenty of space for cultivars to be added to (any) of these:
Jerry Morris photo gallery (Volume 1)

Jerry Morris photo gallery (Volume 2)

Jerry Morris photo gallery (Volume 3)

All are asked to participate. Some lists of known plants cultivated by Jerry Morris are listed at these links. If you have any information (cultivars known to be Jerry Morris introductions, or photos)... Please help us out.

    Thanks!

The Jerry Morris Project Team (it's a big puzzle that is going to be worked on for a very long time).

In the Volume 3 end Nate gave two nice Pinus flexilis cultivars from Denver BG. The first bigger one is
Pinus flexilis 'Unnamed Jerry Morris Selection #8',
    the smaller one is
Pinus flexilis 'Unnamed Jerry Morris Selection #3'

Both were given to Denver by Jerry Morris in 2003.

    Pinus aristata 'Kristen' (ortet broom)

  • mesterhazypinetum

    Nate,
I thought just for a while how simple is for a 4000 year long living plant to create so many witches brooms as possible. The czech friends - despite of this - are collecting brooms from european common spruce trees, which will be cutted after one hundred years.
How "many" rain becomes a Pinus aristata yearly? - do you know that?

    Zsolt,
At this location, the monthly precipitation averages about one inch (range from 0.6 minimum to 1.8 maximum).

    Nate,
following the Picea pungens series of Jerry Morris

About ÂThe RM Group" series from Jerry Morris:

ÂYou asked about the initials "RM". It means Rocky Mountain...not Red Mountain. About 12 years ago, Rich Eyre and I collected some Colorado Spruce brooms for 2-3 days. In one location we found many. This place is about 1 mile long and 1/4 mile wide and it is very difficult to locate and re-locate brooms. We decided to call this group of brooms "The RM Group" in order to simplify things at the time, as we had only a limited amount of time to do this. The scions (broom wood) were packaged and labled with "RM" along with a number on each package. They were all found in the Rocky Mountains. That is the explanation of the "RM".

(Not only conifers, but Jerry's found perennials and many other kind of endemic species!)This could be a way for the future in preserving the "fruits of Colorado and the Rockies", "harvested" by Jerry Morris. Thanks, Denver BG!
