    Both a Bob Fincham graft.

A miniature that grows just over an inch a year. Name tag should read...'Treblitsch'. I'll get it changed some day. Picea omorika 'Treblitsch'
    {{gwi:775566}}

A bright gold sport from Picea omorika 'Nana'. Grows half the rate of the parent plant and does not burn in the sun.

    Dave Picea omorika 'Peve Tijn'.

mmm...let me see...from you(!), amongst others,...bedankt! I love the picea omorika 'Bruns' - a favourite of mine.

In its 4th year in the ground. It really put on some vigorous growth this year which tells me the roots have got their act together. A potted conifer from Iseli that I had to severely root prune in order for it to have a chance for a decent life span.

Love that conifer...special... deserves the attention everybody gives it.

Hi all. If anybody is propagating 'Kamenz' in Europe...let me know. I'd like to have one, please. T.
PS. Lots of outstanding plants are being shown on these parades...I think I will go and have a look-around in The Netherlands sometime in september. T.

Nice plants, Henk. Everything I've read or seen about 'Kamenz' says it's bun shaped. Does it get upright with age?

    Others from 'The Harper Collection'

    Group 'Pendula'

    'Nana'

'Guenter' formerly 'Hexenbeson' or is it vice-versa?

    'Berliner's Weeper'

    Rich's Foxwillow Pines Nursery:

'Gnom' or is this Picea x mariorika

    'Pancake'

    'Pancake'

    'Riverside'

    'Riverside'

    Random:

    'Aurea'

(Variegated Clone) - No information. Probably a wrong name. I don't even know where the photo is from.

You are right about the 'Kamenz', it's a bun shaped plant.
The photo of this 'Kamenz' is taken at the Holata Nursery in Czech Republic and Henk and I ask eachother the same quiestion.
I think it was a bun shaped plant in the beginning and later on some semi dwarf reversion started to grow.
Otherwise it's a very nice slender specimen.

This is the "normal" which I have in my collection.
    Picea omorika 'Kamenz'

    Dax,
The 'Guenther' is written as 'Günther' in the German language.
'Hexenbesen' (instead of 'Hexenbeson') is the same one but the name that should be used is 'Horstmann'

'Gnom' is a cross with Picea mariana.
The true name is Picea x mariorika 'Gnom'.

The 'Pancake' is not so flat, or is it the pancake from grandmother's time? ;0)

The 'Riverside' should be a dense conical tree as I see the picture in the book "Conifers the illustrated encyclopedia".
The one at your picture isn't that shape or will this develop when the plant is older?

The variegated one could be the cultivar 'White Tip' which is originaly from Holland but was lost for many years.
Now I have it back and is propagated.

    Dave and Henk,
The 'Peve Tijn' must be written as 'Pevé Tijn'.

  • dcsteg

'Riverside is dense & conical right from the get go.
    Picea omorika 'Riverside

Another close cousin...habit a little different... a more weeping form. Picea omorika 'Skytrails'

    Thank you Edwin.
Which is correct, 'Günther' or 'Horstmann'? You say it is the same cutlivar, right?

    Dax

  • coniferjoy

    Hi Dax,
Both are incorrect, the cultivarname that must be used is 'Horstmann'.
It's a very big mess with the plants introduced by the Horstmann Nursery, once and a while they change the cultivarnames of the conifers they found.

    Dax-

Thanks for the picture of the Berliner's Weeper. I was afraid the info given with it was wrong. It said it wouldn't get more than 3' wide at ten yrs. I am def. going to need to move it in the near future before I have a problem. How old is the one shown if you know?

I thought that the pancake was supposed to stay flat, or did it grow a leader that will need trimmed out to keep it low growing?

Thank you everybody for posting in these parades. I would love to see them for all kinds of cultivers. However, my wish list is getting longer and longer with each parade!!! When I get my camera in a couple weeks, I'll join you in posting, (just paid property tax this week, so broke till the end of the month) though mine will all be very small yet.

Dave- I really like your Skytails, that is a new one to me. Thanks.

We definitely see some different plants under the same name.Or are these forms unstable and result in variable plants, depending on the propagation method or the area on the mother-plant where the prop-material was taken? T.

  • coniferjoy

    Clément,
Was your 'Kamenz' in the beginning a bun shaped plant?

    Stephen,
You mentioned 'Postoma' while henk mentioned 'Postarna'
The "rn" together looks like a "m".
Holata mentioned 'Postarná' so I think that's the right one.

  • bluespruce53

    Edwin,

I now have Balatka, Borovec, and Holata all listing it as 'Postorna' not Postarna or Postoma

    Hi Will,
The 'Elizabeth' is a very beautiful one!
It looks like the cultivar 'Zuckerhut'
is this one an U.S. selection?

    Hi Clément,
'Frödenberg' must be written as 'Fröndenberg'

I have another one to add:
Picea omorika 'Roter Austrieb' which is German for 'Red Flush'.
Imagine a Picea abies 'Cruenta' with the red spring growth but then as a Picea omorika form which is much more interseting because this time the red colour is outstanding in a combination with the silverblue and green neeles!
    Picea omorika 'Roter Austrieb'
