we have this problem in the hosta world.. everyone... feels it their obligation to name every 'find' in every yard .... and you end up with the potential for dozens of look alike.. OR BASICALLY THE SAME PLANTS .... under a multitude of names ...

and this is how you learn to NOT BE A NAME COLLECTOR ... lol ... historically there was no ability to find any information on most newer plants .... this is where the WWW can be so helpful .. as our ability to search out relevant data increases ...

I'm also very exited by most new cultivars but as you said watch out that we don't become "tag collectors" (you mentioned "name collectors" which is ofcourse the same thing).

In this case the 'Karlsbo' from Sweden is a special one when it comes to the Picea abies cultivars.
It is a very dense one with a special growing habbit which is, compared with the Picea glauca var. albertiana 'Conica' free of red spider mites, which is a very good thing.

I think the plant I have is one of the first which have bin propagated, it's not in the trade yet but I will make the first cuttings this comming Winter, it lookes very promissing for the Scandinavian market, they like plants which are native.
