Juniperus procumbens Nana - typical plant on standard.
Picea abies you didn't record is f. pendula (lots of clones).

I've always wanted to see, Cherry Valley larch. That's a nice small tree. 'Whorled Peace' I saw at Rich's Foxwillow Pines but resembles nothing of Chicago's plant.

Nate, your posts are like receiving a new book on conifers ,every time . Surely amongst the most read & watched ! Gold medal to you!!! T.

PS I agree with Jaro; first-hand experience on a specific subject is worth a lot more than generalities . P.strobus can be a bit iffy over here (stony clay), if the chosen spot is holding water too long.This could also explain why I've lost several Pinus parviflora (said to be grafted on strobus). Viva Chicago!

Yeah Nate, to make a good photo book from your conifer tours sounds very good to me, I'll buy one for sure!
Maybe I can help you with the names ;0)

Picea jezoensis 'Yatsabusa'
must be written as
Picea glehnii 'Yatsubusa'
I see this mistake regulairy, but I never saw such a big specimen of this variety!

Thuja koraiensis 'Glauca Prostrata'.
This means that this variety is a blue creeping form which it isn't.
Some specimens will grow flat when they're young, but at an older age a leader will appaer.
I have the cultivar 'Glauca' in my collection which is the same as the one at the photo.

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Mops' doesn't exist, it's 'Golden Mop'.

The narrow form of Picea abies is the cultivar 'Cupressina'

The narrow form of Pseudotsuga menziesii is 'Fastigiata'.

I must tell that some plants at these photo's are totaly new to my, for instance the Picea abies 'Crippsii' which is a very old cultivar.
Also most plants seen here are from an older age which is very important to see how they will develop when they're planted as a small one in our gardens...
