UCF Hillel Hosts Hanukkah Celebrations

Jewish events held throughout our NorthView community

Chanukkah commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple of Jerusalem, after the Jewish triumph over the forces of the Seleucid king Antiochus. The Jewish holiday is celebrated over eight nights, lighting a candle on the menorah each night. This lighting of the menorah symbolizes how miraculous it was that a jar of oil thought to be able to only burn for one night, lasted eight nights instead, when the Maccabees rededicated the temple. For more in depth information about the traditions and history of Chanukkah, check out this website

Starting on November 28th and ending on December 6th, UCF Hillel is holding special events throughout the holiday for its members and the greater Jewish community to join. UCF Hilel is based in our Northview community, located on the second floor of the building.
