Stop & Shop's newly remodeled Somerset store features more produce and prepared foods

SOMERSET — Stop & Shop, a neighborhood grocer for more than 100 years, is unveiling a newly remodeled store in Somerset at 815 Grand Army Highway. Stop & Shop is elevating the grocery experience by delivering more fresh, healthy and convenient food options that helps make grocery shopping easier for local customers.

The new features include an expanded produce department, new specialty cheese assortment and olive bar and more prepared lunch and dinner solutions. Additional highlights are as follows:

  • New flatbread pizzas in nine varieties (Veggie Delight, Pesto Supreme, Traditional Five Cheese, Chicken Fajita, Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Three Meat Trio, North End Italian Sausage and Pepperoni) that customers can have cooked in-store in less than three minutes or bake at home
  • Sushi bar with rolls made fresh daily
  • Dedicated section for gluten free products
  • Dedicated Baby & Toddler section for a convenient, one-stop shopping experience
  • Displays for sale items at the end of aisles to make it easier to find great values
     

“We’re excited to offer a convenient in-store experience with a much bigger selection of fresh produce for our customers,” shares Steven Martins, Store Manager of the Somerset Stop & Shop. “We’re also proud to partner with Community Autism Resources non-profit to show our commitment to fighting hunger in the community.”

Customers who visit the store during the Grand Reopening weekend beginning Friday, Dec. 11, may enjoy giveaways and samples including a pre-packaged slice of celebratory cake to take home and holiday activity books for children. To mark the special occasion, “Build Your Own Pizza” giveaways are also being provided to customers, while supplies last, which include pizza dough, shredded cheese, marinara sauce and pizza cutters.

To celebrate Stop & Shop’s commitment to the community, the store will be donating $1,000 in cash and $500 in gift cards to Community Autism Resources, which assists and educates families and professionals so that they can better meet the needs of persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The donation will provide gifts and groceries for families in need as part of the organization’s annual Holiday Giving Drive.  

Stop & Shop is unveling its new look in its Somerset store.

The Somerset store continues to offer Same Day Online Pickup, providing local customers with a faster and more convenient way to shop with pickup available in as little as four hours. Customers can now place an order on the Stop & Shop® mobile app, or visit www.stopandshop.com, click on “Order Online” and select “Pickup” at the Somerset store, head to the store, and have a Stop & Shop associate load their groceries right into their car.
