Mountain pines and dwarf pines are common conifers of our gardens. Their limited size and dense habit is often welcome in less spacious areas.

Golden Glow is a special mountain pine with yellow needles from mid autumn until mid spring. They are glossy, up to 6 cm long, evergreen. In late spring they change back to typical pine green colour. New growths are surprisingly long for a dwarf plant, they can be 20-30 cm long. The growth rate slows down with age, and the plant starts spreading to sides rather that growing upwards. The habit is irregularly mounding.

This pine, thanks to its bright colour in winter, will look great in combination with evergreen shrubs with dark green leaves or needles because especially in winter it will make a stunning contrast. Dwarf pines are ideal for larger rockeries, containers on patios, and look great when surrounded by white sand or pebbles. Pines need full sun and well-drained soil that will not be too alkaline, no fertilizing required. Fully hardy to about -40°C (USDA zone 3).
