Don’t let his podcast cohost fool you; Penn Badgley knows how to use TikTok.

Recently, Podcrushed host Sophie Ansari teased Badgley’s official TikTok debut by sharing a hilarious video of the Gossip Girl star struggling to use the app immediately after downloading it. “He was literally writhing,” she captioned the video of Badgley mid-meltdown.

Over on the Podcrushed TikTok account, the actor can be seen attempting viral dances and being described as one of the “friends that hate making TikToks.” Based on the evidence, one might assume Dan Humphrey just doesn’t have what it takes to be a TikTok star….

WRONG. On October 25, Penn Badgley posted the first video to his own TikTok account and took home the award for best use of Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero.” In the video Badgley opens his front door to find himself dressed as Joe from You, lip-syncing, “It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem. It’s me.”

“It’s YOU,” the official TikTok app replied to the video. (Hey, TikTok! Badgley’s account is still unverified. Give the man his blue checkmark!) Even Swift was excited about his video, replying, “OMG!!!! 🤩” Between this and the use of “Exile” in the You season 3 finale, I’m fully expecting a cameo in season 4

Badgley has always been Joe’s number-one hater and regularly calls out fans for romanticizing serial killers. “Joe is not actually looking for true love,” Badgley told Entertainment Weekly  in 2019. “He’s not actually a person who just needs somebody who loves him. He’s a murderer! He’s a sociopath. He’s abusive. He’s delusional. And he’s self-obsessed. You can’t fool yourself into thinking that he just needs somebody who’s right for him. Nobody’s right for him!”

For his second video post, Badgley responded to a fan who had commented on his debut with the popular Gen-Z phrase, “screaming crying throwing up.” In the clip, Badley pulls his head up from a bowl and replies, “me too.”
