Engelmannii and glauca are good species that are closely related, and in fact hybridize in areas of the northern Rockies where their ranges overlap. Other members of the complex are P. pungens and sitchensis.
Snake is the very best of the snakespruces I've seen. The glaucous blue is striking as the form is too. Not so weirdly wild. The biggest I've seen is a 10 footer or so though. Very symmetrical however.
