Chondrostereum purpureum 'Silver Leaf Fungus’ (Pers.) Pouzar
is a fungal pathogen that infects plants in the rose family, especially plum, cherry and apricots, but also poplars and other hardwood and coniferous trees. It fruits in connected brackets on dead branches, stumps and trunks of its hosts during wet periods in late autumn when its spores are released. The caps are hairy while the pore surface is a relatively smooth lavender pore surface. As the fungus ages, the pore surace becomes brown. This is in the Cephalaceae family of the Agaricales order.
