Dracaenas, also known as dragon trees, are native to tropical Africa or Asia. Their name is derived from the Greek drakaina meaning "female dragon." From each "wound" of this tree flows red resin, also known as dragon blood. This has been used as medicine since ancient times. Dracenas are among one of the easiest plants to grow. This plant also has air-purifying properties. This plant filters pollutants from the air through its leaves. The leaves of the Dracaena are green with a red margin. In its natural environment, the Dracaena can grow up to 10 feet tall, but in the home, fortunately, its growth is limited.
Care
This large Dracaena is easy to care for; it likes bright light and a humid atmosphere. Regularly spraying the leaves with water helps keep the plant beautiful. In summer, it is better to keep the root ball more moist. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18°C and 25°C.
