Notes:
Pinus thunbergii, commonly known as Black Pine, is a very popular horticulture tree and a favorite for Bonsai enthusiasts because of the rigid branches and twisting shape and form. For bonsai, it is best grown in bright, indirect light. You can grow in a larger container at first to speed up trunk development. Tolerant of poor soils, salts, and coastal conditions. While a fantastic bonsai start, this plant will grow to full proportions if planted in the ground.
Good drainage is essential for this plant to thrive. It needs medium amounts of supplemental water once established. Irrigate by watering deeply and then allowing the top several inches of soil to dry between waterings. This encourages the plant to send roots deep into the earth in search of moisture, helping it to become established, prevent root rot, build drought tolerance, and resilience to heat and cold. The length of time between waterings will vary depending on your growing conditions and environment.
I am selling this plant for ornamental cultivation only, and recommend no part of Pinus thunbergii be ingested internally, seller is not responsible for improper use.
Our plants are shipped with considerable personal time, cost, and careful attention so that they will arrive at their destination in good health, intact, and ready to adapt to a new environment. I ship within 7 business days.
The plant can experience some stress during its trip and may have a few damaged or yellow leaves. It will be shipped with a wet paper towel and plastic bag around the root ball to prevent loss of moisture during the shipping process, but will still need to be unwrapped, and watered-in directly upon arrival to prevent further stress. Keep in a shady location protected from the sun and wind if not immediately transplanting.
I am happy to answer any questions about combined shipping discounts for bulk purchases. Please contact me directly with any questions, comments, or concerns. Happy Planting!
