• While attending the PaleyFest in Los Angeles, CBS producer Peter M. Lenkov was asked whether popular programs Hawaii Five-0, Magnum, P.I., and MacGyver would ever come together.
  • All three shows are reboots of original classics, but Peter admitted that filming locations might complicate a potential collaboration.

A Hawaii Five-0, Magnum, P.I., and MacGyver crossover episode may officially be in the works, and all of our crime drama dreams just came true.

That's right—Deadline reports that, during the PaleyFest in Los Angeles, CBS producer Peter M. Lenkov had a relatively promising response when asked whether these three shows would ever join forces.

"This is a question I’ve never heard before," Peter joked. "We talk about it a lot in the room, how to do it. I think there’s a way to do it, it’s just logistics."

It makes sense—geographically, a potential crossover presents a huge challenge. Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I. film in Hawaii, whereas MacGyver takes place thousands of miles away in Atlanta.

This is the DREAM.

However, all three programs have one major unifying component (aside from being fan favorites)—they've actually aired as 21st century revivals of their namesakes. Hawaii Five-0 originally premiered in 1968, Magnum, P.I. in 1980, and MacGyver in 1985.

Of these modern-day reboots, Hawaii Five-0 has been a CBS staple the longest after debuting in 2010. Now in its ninth season, the series stars Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan as their on-screen elite task force team works tirelessly to wipe out local crime.

MacGyver, on the other hand, is in the midst of its third season. Protagonist and problem-solver-extraordinaire Angus "Mac" MacGyver (Lucas Till) puts his smarts to the test within his own top-secret U.S. government organization to save lives. Though it hasn't quite been the same since George Eads's Jack Dalton left...

As for newcomer Magnum P.I., the revitalized crime drama hit the small screen just last year. Played by Jay Hernandez, the series' eponymous lead tackles a new career in private investigation, with the original version's signature red Ferrari making a contemporary comeback. (Sadly, Tom Selleck has not returned with it.)

So far, CBS has confirmed another season for Magnum P.I., but the renewal fates of MacGyver and Hawaii Five-0 stand up in the air. Not all hope is lost, however. Although Peter didn't verbalize any set-in-stone plans for a three-series crossover at the annual TV festival, he left the audience members with one positive remark regarding a potential collab. "We’d love to make that work out," he concluded.

We'd love it, too.
