Oh, This? Just 25 Photos of the 'Hannah Montana' Cast In 2006 vs. Now
Everyone looks SO different.
POV: It's March 24, 2006. Kids are sitting in front of their TV screens to get a glimpse at the newest show to premiere on Disney Channel. It's Hannah Montana. The songs are catchy. The characters are quirky, yet relatable. And it did one thing no one expected: it made a global superstar out of a young girl named Miley Cyrus. Let's get into the limo out front, take a ride down memory lane and see just where the wonderfully talented cast of Hannah Montana ended up a decade and a half after its premiere.
Miley Cyrus—Then
As if you could forget the girl playing the title character herself. Miley Stewart was like every early 2000's teenage girl: obsessed with boys, lip gloss, and trying to sneak around behind her dad's back. Hannah Montana, though, was PEAK aspiration—her singing career, the flashy clothes, the hot guys she got to hang with on a daily basis (hello, Jonas Brothers!). She had it made.
Miley Cyrus—Now
Fifteen years after the show's premiere, Miley is THE international superstar who nakedly rode a wrecking ball, and we love her for it. With hit records under her belt, iconic romances (don't think we forgot about you, Liam), and daring hairstyles, the girl can do it all.
Emily Osment—Then
Lilly Truscott was the BFF we all wanted. She was Miley's perfect counterpart. Come to think of it, can we all have Lilly come to our houses and give us the quintessential Lola makeover ASAP?
Emily Osment—Now
Just because Hannah Montana isn't on the air anymore doesn't mean Emily's done with Hollywood. Most recently starring in the Fox series Almost Family, she is about to take over Netflix with an untitled rom-com series starring another famous Disney star: Gregg Sulkin.
Mitchel Musso—Then
BFF #2, step on up. Oliver Oken helped complete the friend trifecta. The name Smokin' Oken will live in my mind rent free until the end of time.
Mitchel Musso—Now
The man behind Mike Standley III clearly wasn't done with Disney post-HM, because shortly after the fourth season premiered, he went on to star in Pair of Kings on Disney XD and voice Jeremy in Phineas and Ferb. But he's always going to be our favorite cheese-jerky lovin' boy from L.A. Also... he's now really ripped. You're welcome.
Jason Earles—Then
Chances are we all knew someone who reminded us of Jackson Stewart in our youth. As the annoying older sibling, he always had to get the most attention. How did he do this exactly? By being a big goof and essentially ruining anything he could get his hands on. Welp.
Jason Earles—Now
Fans may still know Earles from his early Disney days, but after that, he starred in Disney XD's Kickin' It. Since that show ended, though, he's primarily been heard (rather than seen) on various animated shows. Good for him!
Billy Ray Cyrus—Then
Who knew the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer could actually be good at comedy? Robby Ray was the quintessential TV dad: concerned, caring, and also never wanting to see his little girl grow up and become a woman. Well, given how she had the WHOLE WORLD chasing her, it's no wonder he was as protective as he was!
Billy Ray Cyrus—Now
Nowadays, Cyrus is back to singing and making headlines for his feature in a certain Lil Nas X track. He also re-entered the world of acting a few years back as the star of the CMT series Still the King.
Moises Arias—Then
Let's keep it real for a second—we all wanted to be Rico Suave. I mean, he had his own concession stand on the beach, had cash to spend however he wanted, and the energy to constantly play pranks on Jackson. What else could you ask for?
Moises Arias—Now
Arias has actually kept up with his acting career since the show ended, starring in critically-acclaimed movies like The Kings of Summer, The Wall of Mexico and Five Feet Apart, amongst other roles. Looks like he's doing well for himself!
Cody Linley—Then
Raise your hand if at some point in the show, you were in love with Jake Ryan. He was the teen heartthrob we thirsted over, and when he and Miley got together, it was a match made in heaven. Sadly, their romance blew up—quite literally—when Oliver found out Jake was two-timing Miley.
Cody Linley—Now
Linley turned from one iconic role to another, as he eventually went on to star in the Sharknado franchise. Oh, and let's not forget the time he was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Good looks AND dancing talent? Yeah.
Selena Gomez—Then
Way before she became the beauty mogul she is now, Selena Gomez was busy torturing Miley as Mikayla, the ultimate mean-girl-turned-semi-popstar. I truly wonder if she's still lusting after Jake Ryan all these years later...
Selena Gomez—Then
I mean, do we really have to spell out where Selena is now? She starred on her own successful Disney Channel show, has released hit records, executive produced popular Netflix projects, and is now the founder of Rare Beauty. If that doesn't give you a little bit of hope for the future, I don't know what does.
Shanica Knowles and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle—Then
Oh, Amber and Ashley... what would Hannah Montana be without the resident mean girls of Seaview Junior High? Despite every person not liking them, there was something weirdly endearing about Miley having to put up with peers who truly didn't know the biggest secret in the world.
Shanica Knowles—Now
Shanica Knowles (who sadly, before you ask, is not related to those famous singing sisters) is still working in TV. In 2018, she starred in Tyra Banks' Life-Size 2.
Anna Maria Perez de Tagle—Now
Anna Maria isn't doing too bad either post-HM. She starred in the Camp Rock franchise, and then on Broadway in 2011's Godspell. And best part? She's about to be a first-time momma!
Drew Roy—Then
Remember the time when Miley had to choose between Jake and bad-boy Jesse? I mean, have you seen him? It's no wonder Miley eventually went over to the dark side.
