Genus: Cyanolyca
Description
Nine species of Jays from Central America and South America.
This birds are small and sleek. They are uniformely dark blue except for a black mask and sometimes a paler crown and/or throat. All species inhabit forests, most of them are found at higher altitudes.
Taxonomy
Cyanolyca is genus in the family Corvidae.
A DNA study has shown that this genus is the most basal of the New World jays.
