Cedrus libanii 'Pendula' This cedar of lebanon grows as a narrow weeper. Unusual type of the well known biblical tree Slow growing with a bluish cast to the needles and the cones. An outstanding specimen grows. Very rare! Recommended by the US National Arboretum.

It’s not likely that I will keep this plant. The seller’s image is very misleading. At $35 plus the aprox. $10 shipping, I could have paid just a bit more for a mature, healthy tree from my local Lowe’s store.

Planted in early May and plant has had good growth. Note that this species is very slow growing and will take several years to mature. Soil must be kept moist as any extended dry soil conditions will put plant into shock due to shallow root system in early growth.

Quite far from the pictured tree, what I got was a twig, less than a centimeter across and a few feet long. Weak and spindly, it dropped most of its needles within a month or so. When I see that for only a little more I could have picked up a far more developed and hardy six foot tall specimen from my garden center, I'm quite disappointed with this purchase. I have doubts that this is a "three year graft." One star given back because after some foot dragging, Japanese maples etc agreed to a return, at my own expense of course.

Much, much smaller than I expected. It literally was a 10" graft and the stalk was maybe 1/4" thick. This tree died within 3 weeks even after being watered at least every other day. Ironically, found the same tree type that was about 4 feet tall and much healthier for just $15 more at a local nursery.
